Not sure how to start this off lol but here goes. I'm 16 and my OH is 19.
We decided to start TTC as we have discussed it rather a lot recently and was even caught (by one of his friends) talkin about how to fit a cot into his room lol.
Everyone already has their suspicions, i was asked whether i was having a boy or a girl by OH's 13yo sister at the weekend! His parents also keep askin for "the news" whenever i walk in lol. + my mum keeps askin me have i anythin to tell her seein as we keep talkin about it.
I've just come off the pill Mycrogynon 30 due to side effects, so we're not expectin anythin for at least a year, but i do also know that anythin can happen.
Just on here to support others in my position + to hopefully have any questions i have in the future answered by people that have been through pregnancy.
Ooh before i forget, if you were very regular before going on the pill for a year and a half and then come off it, are you likely to just ping back into bein as regular as you were before? x

hi congratulations on starting to ttc! i came off the pill and was preganant the same month! xx

Welcome to BnB, you'll love it here :D

I cant give you any info as Ive never been on any type of pill, but from what I hear, its just different for everyone. Anyway, Good Luck ttc :D xx

Hey :)
Welcome to B&B, I'm S.J. Everyone's great on here so you'll get loads of support and advice off everyone.
Congratulations on TTC :cloud9:
I'm not sure how long it will take for you and your OH to conceive, it depends on your body. Me and my OH weren't even TTC, I missed one pill (was on the same pill as you) and the next thing I knew... I was pregnant lol
Anyways, congratulations again and keep everyone updated :)
xxxx

Thanks all :) messages are greatly appreciated lol.
Yeah, its mad how it can take just ONE missed pill to get pregnant "accidentally" but sometimes years when trying! xx

hi thats the pill i was on. i was regular to within a 5hour time frame. When i came off i was 1 day off and then straight back to the way i was. i have been on the pill for 7ish years so i would expect you to go back to being regular.

As far as a year, thats what i thought, having been on the pill years. well 3 months to the dot later i am with bump and very excited.
Glad to hear you both spoke about it, sounds like your ready, age doesnt always have to come into it.

Something to be aware of, my midwidfe advised in future after coming off the pill i try to use other protection for 3 months as the reminants of the pill in your boold stream can cause side affects to bubs - not sure what they are, maybe higher risk of miscarriage (dont know!) but noone wants that! so i am in all clear, just - body obviuolsy knew when to get pregnant.
Good luck

Yeah its a higher chance of miscarriage, i've done my research lol.
I'm also taking Pregnacare so my folic acid is bein taken care of too.
Just hope i'm not due when my college exams are! x

hey hun, and welcome!
So presming here you work fulltime am I right? Have you set aside a baby fund to help support you through the tougher months?
Me and my husband both work fulltime and we will find it a struggle even with money set aside, so just wondering how it is you will cope financially?

Heyy :) and thankyou!
I work part-time as i go to college + can't juggle both, OH works full time.
I know its gona be hard, which is why we're waiting till we're more "stable".
We started a savings account last year [which was intended to be for a flat sometime next year], but if i get pregnant then i know we'd cope. xx

You'll find half and half replies on this forum, but all supportive and meant well. I cannot judge as I fell for my son when I was 17, but he wasn't planned.

We find it finacially hard aswell, but anyone at this stage of the credit crunch willl.

By your comment "fitting a cot into his bedroom" I would suggest you get your names on the council house list so that you have your own family home. I stayed with my mum for 3 months until we bought the house we're in and that was hell with a newborn child.

Hey welcome along!!

seems like you have really got your head screwed on and know exactly what your letting yourself into!!

hope all goes well for you!!

x

why are you not expecting anything to happen for a year after coming off the pill??? It can happen that month.... even by missing one!!

I think you should wait until college is finished!! I couldnt be pregnant and be studying too!! Being preg really takes it out of you!!

Good luck!

I agree - you shouldn't start unless you are happy to give birth 9 months from now - yeah sure it can take a year but I was pregnant in a month after coming of the same pill. At the end of the day you are only 16 if it takes a year you will still only be 17! Its not like you have to worry about time running out. I am not trying to patronise you I just think if you want to get your college exams done and pass with high marks - believe me pregnancy wil not help! Also you will have longer to save money - get yourself your own place with your fella and then have a baby - dont become another statistic on benefits for the rest of your life - give yourself and your longed for child the best start possible and give it a little bit more time and thought, if you really want it that badly and so does your other half it wont matter to wait a little bit longer - believe me I rushed it myself and I had been with my fella 7 years got married bought my own place but now I realise looking back it was too soon, we were too young and now I am divorced!

:hi:and welcome to BnB.I was on the same pill as you and i fell pregnant with my daughter (i must have been sick or missed one??) So you could catch straight away. If your looking to get pregnant in a year but want to come off the pill to regulate your periods you could use condoms instead xx

I know that this is quite an old thread but i also just wanted to say that it won't necessarily take a year now that you've stopped the pill. Could happen at any time so if you don't want baby for another year then use condoms or something

Lol thanks for the comments, we're in no rush! I was simply very broody when i made this post, now we're WTT not TTC :). + yeah we're using condoms until my cycles sorted and we know we'd be ready xx
