Hi everyone..
My baby boy arrived on 1st July, at 28 weeks and 3 days! He weighed 2lb 11.5oz, was ventilated for 15 hours, then on cpap for a few days (the steriods I had apparently made a huge difference!)
He's now in HDU, having 29ml's of milk every 3 hours, weighs 2lb 15oz. He's having brady's here and there, apneas.. he has a lil hernia in his groin that needs surgery before he comes home.
Overall, the consultant is really pleased with him and says he's doing great for a 28 weeker, but I can't help but worry! I always feel guilty, if it's not to my baby, it's to my other lil boy who's 3. I wonder if it'll ever feel "ok" to leave my tiny baby at the hospital every day :( I just want him big and strong so he can come home.
Ugh.
Anyway, here he is...

They started dressing him in hospital clothes when he was about 2 weeks old, the nurses said not to bother buying any as they won't fit for long.. the prem clothes are SO expensive, but he's quite long so he fits in early baby (up to 5lb) clothes which I got from Asda/Tesco etc!
They kept him in just a nappy initially so they could watch his chest rise and fall, but because he's been so good with him breathing they were happy to start dressing him. I'm sure every hospital is different though.. good luck honey!!

thanks very much apprecaite your reply and ure baby is lush i hope mines as strong as this buba :)

Welcome to this section, and congratulations!

kayshablake i think its dependant on the temp in the incubator, it can get pretty hot and moist in there if a baby needs it! They are all different.

He is adorable... on the positive hun hes a really good weight for a 28 weeker my son was born at 32 weeks weighing 2lb 11oz so your boy is doing fab he is adorable hun congrats xx
