Hi everyone,

I'm 42 years old and married

I had endometriosis removed surgically at the end of 2006
Since then I have had 3 miscarriages ....

1st pregnancy 10 week scan no heartbeat (mmc at 8 weeks) Oct 07
2nd pregnancy 8 weeks scan no heartbeat (mmc at 5.5 weeks) Mar 08
3rd pregnancy - blighted ovum - scan at 6 wks and again at 8 wks Feb 09

All blood tests etc after the 2nd miscarriage on both of us were all okay

Where do we go from here ?

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks in advance xxxxx

Hi Ali,

Welcome. I'm sorry for you losses.

Are you currently seeing a reproductive endocrinologist?

If you are not, I would ask your GP or ob/gyn for a referral to find out what is going on. I don't have the medical answers for you, but an RE would be able to point you in the right direction.

Good luck!

Welcome to BnB, when you had the blood tests did anyone recommend baby asprin or anything? I've just been recommended this by my fertility nurse so could be worth a try even though the blood tests came back ok. Good luck!

Welcome, I am in the same boat as far as m/c go...I too have had three m/c. I had a HSG which was clear (but I was told that test should be repeated after every 4-6 months). It is good for checking blocked tubes, but also for possible scarring in your uterus. I take prometrium (progesterone) and Clomid to make a stronger corpus luteum, thus a better egg and increased progesterone. Next up for us (or shall I say me, since my hubby has a pretty easy part in this all so far) is a lap/hysterscopy/D&C.

Has your DR said anything about your age and whether or not that is a factor? I have read that women over forty have a 1 in 2 chance of m/c??? Is your DR referring you, or just sort of recommending that you both keep trying right now???

I would at least (if you haven't already) ask for a progesterone test, baby asprin, HSG, and other blood work. Then, since it has been so long since you last lap, I would request another with a D&C. GL.

:hi: welcome to B&B! Sorry to hear of your losses, and I hope they get to the bottom of it soon for you

Welcome. So sorry to hear of your m/c's. Big Hug.

I have severe endo and three ops later am still not pregnant.

You need to get yourself referred sharpish. My consultant has always warned me that time is huge issue with endo. It may even be that you need a bit more work on that side of things.

wishing you much luck hun

Hi everyone

Thank you to you all for being so welcoming and helpful to me.
I have today made an appointment with my consultant gynae at the hospital the appointment is not until April - and I intend to prepare some questions to put to him.
He hasn't so far mentioned that my miscarriages are down to my age but who knows that's why I feel that time seems to be running out. Each time I seem to get pregnant easy enough but then can't get past the first scan for them to detect a heartbeat. Maybe it is all to do with my endo - I will ask him this question - as he was the one who carried out the operation to remove it.

Thanks again everyone xxx
