Hi, I'm new here

Hey, well I'm still in a state of shock that I'm pregnant.
Found out yesterday that I'm 25 weeks.
Been on the pill for the past year but obviously something went wrong there. Only noticed something was wrong when I came off the pill and my period didn't come!
Told the parents and went straight to the doctors to get fast tracked with a midwife straight away to check that everything was fine.

Bit of a shock to me and the dad as were both about to start our second year of uni and obviously have to put everything on hold, both agreed to defer our second year and waiting to hear back from our lecturers to see if thats okay as our courses are quite arts based.

Hearing back from my midwife tomorrow as to when my first scan is to check that everything with the baby is okay! Cause I've done quite a bit over the past few months (festivals, birthdays etc)

Now I'm just stuck as to what to do financially in regards to the child.
My mum and his parents are still in a state of shock. Me and my OH are trying to stay calm and sort this out as adults as we've both just turned 20.
Got an appt at the Citizens Advice with my OH to ask them what we're entitled to.

Both of us have part time jobs but I'll probably go full time up until the birth as mines better paying than his is.

Still slightly shocked that I'm so far gone as I've had no symptoms as of yet except being tired and random stomach cramps every now and again. My doctor said the baby was probably positioned in a way that I couldn't feel it.

Welcome. I'm Cari and almost 35 weeks pregnant with a little girl . I also got pregnant on the pill and didn't know for two months (a big difference compared to you I'm sure!). But congrats

Yeah bit of a shock to say the least! mum was more shocked than us as me and the OH had prepared ourselves for if it did happen.
Shes far more supportive than i thought she would be. Think shes more scared than me though!
The best thing she said was 'It feels like everyones thrown your pack of cards up in the air and you just need to pick them up and put them back together in the right order'
feels exactly like that!
good thing is she works in the hospital i want to give birth in but on a different ward. so she knows everyone thats going to be there helping me!

I found out I was pregnant when I was 14 weeks and 5 days,
Due October 28 with a little girl. 31 weeks tomorro.
got pregnant on seasonique.

seems like the pill isnt as effective as they make out! mine was on cilest.
thankyou, i'm talking with my OH now about it all. i think once we get our finances sorted them we can start to get excited!

Yeah I really am getting excited.
Its more realistic since I'm on bed rest because of Preterm Labor.
Its all seeming so real and actually hitting me..

yeah its all starting.
So sorta nervous about having her too early. I was a preemie myself.
my mom had me at 35 weeks and I was one sick little baby. Dont want that to happen to my little girl.
Yeah thats how i was. after the scan i got so excited.

Update!!!!
mums just come back from work. she had a really long chat with everyone there and i think shes more excited about it all than what i am!
shes already had loads of her pals say they can give us stuff for the baby and give us books and advice.
i think her working on a ward with lots of death (i know it sounds bad) but had given her a more positive outlook on the situation.
just got to hope my brothers excited about being an uncle!

Hey, I'm Brandi, 17 years old and 28 weeks pregnant with a little girl.
I also got pregnant on birth control. But I was taking an antibiotic that I wasn't warned would affect my birth control's affectiveness.

Oh wells Me and OH are happy and excited now. But to find out at 25 weeks, god that must be a super shock!

Yeah, i basically thought i was only a few weeks so we were going to go to the docs and see what our options were but when they did a scan they told us it was that! think we all went into a state of shock haha.
Its a shock that so many girls get pregnant on the pill but i'm glad you and the OH are happy Brandi!

Congrats. I also got pregnant on the pill.
I was in huge shock when I found out I was.
I am glad everyone is supportive

The only one thats not come round to the idea is his mum but its only been 2 days that we've known so i'm not annoyed at her or anything!

Awe thanks I Love her name too. Her dad does not like it too much but thats okay.
Lyriks dads mom never came around she still has not seen her either has his dad but its life.
And I bet his mom will come around and if not you have support from everyone else.!

Yeah me and the OH were talking about it and we feel the main reason is cause his family live 2 hours drive away from me (i met my OH at uni) and his mum feels like she cant be involved as much as what my mum is. Going to meet up with her tonight and try and reassure her. But his dad is 100% behind us.
We dont even know if we have a little boy or girl yet
its so lazy i think ive only felt it move around a couple of times!

Welcome btw, i can't imagine the shock you must've got! Its good to hear your mum's supporting you, it makes things so much easier!

Thanks! I think its a girl too. Still waiting for the MW to call me about booking my scan been waiting for nearly 2 days now. Went to the docs this morning to chase it up!
My mums meeting my OH's parents tonight for the first time to discuss whats going to happen - Eek!
