Hi ladies
I'm just looking for any tips and advice re breast feeding. I am pregnant with my second and am hoping to breast feed. I wanted to with my first but he wouldn't latch at all it took lots of trying a few midwives and a breast feeding specialist and we just couldn't do it. In the end I expressed for him for a month so he was still having my breast milk but from a bottle.
As you can imagine all these strangers fondling my boobs and trying to force him to take was a little bit traumatic and after I always said I wouldn't try it again.
However I've changed my mind and am determined to give it another go when this LO arrives. But I'm terrified!!
It's the only thing in the whole pregnancy,labour experience that scares me. I felt like I'd failed my son and i really don't want that again.
Any tips or advice that can help me not panic and know what to do rather than being fondled by lots of strangers again would be appreciated.

research watch videos now so that you are as prepped as you can be - and then do as much trying when babies here without an audience - it wont help if you are not relaxed i hate latching mine on now with anyone watching especially at the beginning - good luck

Thank you shanny! I'm determined to at least try again. Just don't know if I could handle deflation if I can't again xx

Don't put too much pressure on yourself!
I breast fed my first but didnt last long and swore I'd look more into it with my 2nd,

I watched a lot of videos on YouTube and got a lot of advice from here and breastfeed him for 7 months exclusively!

Don't give up it will work x

hi hun, my journey was very similar to yours, except for I am notoriously stubborn and I just stuck to it for 7 months. It was not a walk in the park by no means and I didn't start enjoying it until maybe 3 months or so.
With this little guy, who was born five weeks early, I insisted the doctors put him on my chest the second he's born (provided there are no visible health issues). They agreed and it was the best thing I did - the connection, the latch, it was all there without my putting any effort to it at all. He found it by himself, latched himself, I just stuck a boob in his face.
