Hi ladies , im joining you in the FF group now

I have been breastfeeding Toby for 8 and a half weeks but he isnt getting what he needs from me anymore as I have an overactive let down and a foremilk/hindmilk inbalance. He is getting too much foremilk (even when expressing off before hand) and it is making him in sooooooo much pain all day long (from feed to feed) with the gassiness of it - he doesnt stop crying in pain all day! - it is so horrible to see him like that. he was hungry all day too. I have also had mastitis twice in 8 weeks!

He has been on formula all day today and he is like a different baby, he is so happy and has been bringing his wind up really well and is in no pain beteween feeds whatsoever, so i have a happy little boy again. I have been getting smiles and laughs all day today - its amazing :cloud9:

I am sorry that my BF journey has come to an end so soon as i loved the closeness that we got from breastfeeding. I was in tears last night at the thought of not being able to feed him myself, but the happiness and wellbeing of my son is so much more important and i can see that he will be so much happier now

Look forward to talking to you all soon - im sure i will have loooooooads of questions :haha:

xx xx

Welcome, i too felt bad that i wasn't going to breastfeed my boy but i am happy with my decision now as he is a much happier baby cause he isn't hungry all the time. A happy mum equals a happy baby

So true hun, so true!

Hello and welcome!! :happydance: 8 and a half weeks is wonderful especially when u have been poorly twice, my sister suffered terribly with mastitus whilst breast feeding and it was awful, she felt so so dreadful! I can't wait till my little one smiles lots, she is just letting the odd one sneek out now and again at the moment, I am glad your LO is feeling better too x x
