Hi Ladies

Just thought I would introduce myself in this group..... Not really the group I wanted to be in after 2 and a half years of TTC..........

I am 24 years old and me and my OH have been ttc for 2 and a half years. I was diagnosed with PCOS nearly 3 years ago and probably had 10 cycles in the 3 years.

Earlier this year my GP sent me to a specialist that run tests on me to confirm PCOS and rule out any other infertility. The tests results showed I has cysts on my ovaries but no sign in my blood of having the syndrome.
I also had to have an MRI as my bloods showed high levels of prolactin.

After my MRI confirmed that the prolactin gland was producing too much prolactin, causing my periods to be irregular, my specialist has put me on Bromocriptine 2.5mg

Is there anyone else that has the same problem? This is my 3rd day of taking the medication so hopefully in a couple of months there will be some progress.....

Babydust to you all

Hi im new to this group as well, we have been TTC for 2yrs and 2mths now and thought I best fitted in over here now, as we are have had our tests done and Im just waiting to have tubes checked. We will move onto IVF in jan 2012 if we have no success. I cant help as im not on meds but just wanted to say Hi.

Hi Apple Blossom,

who would have thought TTC would be this hard eh?? Is it the dye test that your having done?? Blimey, IVF so soon.... My specialist told me its a last resort for us to try that as she wants to try clomid, metformin, and other methods first.....

Good Luck =) Xxxxxxxx

They are going to go straight in and do the big one, which is a laparoscopy thats where they fill you with gas and put three probes in through your belly, its quite a big one so it takes about 2 days to get over and they put you right out to do it. Well we havent yet started IVF we are going to see what the results of the tubes are first, but we are sorting out which clinic we want to go to in advance as im donating my eggs to pay for our treatment, so they will need to match me up with someone first and not sure how long that will take. Plus we are not getting any younger im 31 and OH is 38, well 39 this yr. We have also been NTNP for 4yrs before TTC with nothing happening so we just dont want to be left hanging around anymore. We have had alot of tests done already and there is nothing wrong so we have unexplained infertilty. Goodluck to you and hope all goes well.

That is great your donating your eggs..... I had the dye test which is where they put dye into your fallopian tubes and get it up an xray and see if the tubes are clear... thank goodness mine were.... My GP mentioned the one your going for.... Good luck with that sweetie.....

It must be frustrating having unexplained fertility......

I know a few ladies on here who have had the dye one done, glad your tubes are clear! It is so frustrating but you gotta keep going, and its great with my OH as he makes me laugh alot and believe you me that helps :haha:. How long will the doctor give you on meds? thats never been a sugestion to me but my cycles are great so there would be no need. I have a friend also who has very long cycles she hasnt had a periond in over a yr and the docs are only just looking into it, she was very very low and sad . x x x
