Has anyone ever had one or are scheduled to go for one? Really nervous.

there are some ladies around here that have already had one..or two...or are just about to..My endo specialist tries to get me to do it...but I keep runing around the field like a headless chicken, refusing to have it done! why are they recommending it for you?

I've never had one done but wanted to wish you luck! :hugs:

Hello,
I've had one done in September. I was very nervous about it, but it all turned out fine.

You have some discomfort afterwards, but it's really not that bad.....

im having one tomorrow, ill let u know how it goes xx

I have just had my fourth lap.....you will be fine. It tells so much I would recommend everyone offered one def have it.

Makes me sound like I have a strange addiction!

The recovery time is quick and after three or four days you do feel a lot better.

Good luck....let us know how it goes xx

I'm having one done a week Tuesday and am a little nervous and worried about what they might find!

Im suppose to go for one, in 2 weeks nervous also. Shes looking to see if i have endo and to see if my tubes are blocked, also to take out some cysts. I just hope it will help things. Youll have to let me know how you do. How long have you been trying?

We've been trying for 2 years now and we know we have sperm and eggs so now just having to see if they are able to meet! I have a son from my first marriage and he was born by emergency c-section so they are concerned that may have left some "sticky" bits in my tubes which is hampering the sperm and eggs from gettign together and if it is only a few little bits that need clearing out then they will do that there and then.
Our problem is that as we both have children from previous relationships that if they find a major problem which means ivf is the only likely way for us to conceive then we won't get it on the nhs so that'll be the end of our ttc journey!
But no point worrying about that now we'll just have to see what next tuesday brings and then we have an appointment with the ferility special on 1st dec to talk through her findings from the op and where we go from there!

Hi Ladies! Just wanted to fill you in on my Lap surgery. I was so nervous going for it as its my first time for surgery. When we arrived, then had me put on a gown(everything came off), and i had just started my period so i had to wear the hospital disposable undies and pads. They then came in and did vital checks, and another nurse put the IV in my hand(ouch it hurt), then i waited for about 2 hours. I was so upset when they strolled me away from my DH, 2 hrs later and Then they took me tooa prep room for the surgery. There was nobody else there!!!LOL just me. I sat in the bed and waited some more.talked to a nurse for a bit and listened to xmas music. Then my Surgeon(my fertility specialist), came and briefed me on what will happen and asked if i had questions, i told her well im so nervous i dont know where to start!! she smiled and told me everything we went over is what will happen and you will not feel a thing and not to worry. I told her my period came early(just blurrted it out( cuz i was so scared)lol. And she said no problem. She said what she finds she will write a small note about it for me and the nurses will give it to me after. then said next time shed see me will be when i go back to the office to talk about the surgery. I then waited again and the Anastegeologist(sorry if spelt wrong) cam ein.He was the sweetest man alive!! He talked to me and asked me questions told me hed be right by my side in the OR room and walked me through what hed do for me. I told him i was really nervous and he came back with a small dose of Heaven!!LOL! It basically just took the edge off me. The my Surgeons resident introduced herself to me and said shed be right there in the room also(she was nice). Then the main Or Nurse came and said hi told me she was there for me, and will be next to me the whole way through. She smiled and giggled about me being sorta floaty. The Nurse and the Anastegeologist held my hands and transfered me onto the opertaing bed(it had a cold gel on the back). I laid there stuck both my arma out and they strap your arms down sort you dont hit them i guess lol!!! Then the Man from heaven gave me another dose of heaven and asked me to breath in the oxygen mask big breathes. the nurse held it there,...while two other nurses took my bottoms off and told me theyll cover me with a warm blanket. then the Man from heaven said hes giving me the main dosage which i will fall asleep, i remember nodding and that was it. I woke up in an unfamliar room (things were a bit blurry and my speech was too i guess). I started crying for a minute and the nurse looked at me and asked why i was crying, i said i dont know.(i couldnt figured out where i was and what was going on for a few minutes)then it came back to me and i asked her for something as i felt all this pain for a minute and then felt like i had to pee, and wanted water so badly. She was a bit rude i remeber and told me there no washroom so she stuck a pan under me(it hurt even more, and i told her no no please take it out), i just want something for the pain and water. she said she couldnt give me water yet. Another nurse came by an saw me in all this pain and told the other nurse to give me something! then she fianlly gave me morphine. it took about 15mins to kick in. Then the nice nurse strolled me back to the room my DH was waiting in for me. It was so nice to see his face. I was so tired could keep my eyes open. Then i saw the water and apple juice and a muffin!!!lol i drank everything there and my DH had to keep filling the water,..I drank 5 big Glasses of water and still couldnt pee. The nurses said probably cuz my bodys absobing it all.(cuz you cant eat or drink after midnight the night before)Everyone has to go pee before they can leave. So i laid there and dosed off and on for a few hours. The nurse came and checked the incisions(i have 4 total). Then told me that my DR found severe endometreosis(level 4)in my pelvic area which was burned out and my left tube is blocked. There was nothing said about my cysts which was the whole reasoning i got reffered to the specialist, so ill be asking her about that when we see her. So ya, i finally could pee after 5.5hrs!!lol ya!!! Then was released, and trust me you need someone with you,..i was walking on clouds still.
But the overall experience and out come was good i believe. Except for waking up to that butthead nurse(LOL). Overall, it was good. Im not having alot of pain even with having my period, but im very sore around the incisions and my tummys bloated still from the gas(they have to blow you tummy up with gas to see everything).
Otherwise all good here. Hope this helps!!! Anyone else has similar outcome, let me know!!!:hugs:
Kristina
