we have been trying to get pregnant for four and half years, my husband was told 3 yrs ago he has low sperm & motility but we put our next tests on hold for a while now we are doing our tests again, i had my ovulation test thru the week and my husband is due to have another sperm analysis in 12 days. last time he had 5million. we have to meet our doctor in sept to discuss results

anyone know where we go from here...

I think it really depends how the sa comes back.
I know that they will probably do an hsg regardless if it is good or bad as to begin on clomid if you are not ovulating they do it, and it sa is bad and want to do iui they do it.

So that is my guess hsg ... which if I am getting my short form correct is the test where they put a catheter into your cervix push dye in and see if your tunes are open.

I think myshelsong is correct, it depends on how the SA comes back and you definitely need an hsg before proceeding to any kind of fertility treatment (no sense in stimulating the ovaries if the tubes may be blocked) Your OH may be referred to a urologist to see if there a correctable issue that can be fixed via surgery.

I think the next steps would depend on your age and how quickly you want to be pregnant. For IUI, the like to see more than 5 million sperm post wash (not sure on the motility and morphology numbers) so if the SA comes back around the same they may suggest IVF. I would think the choice would be yours to try IUI first even though the odds are low with low sperm counts, but it can and does happen so it may be worth a try or two.

It is so hard waiting for test results and not having a plan. I would take this time to enjoy your hubby and have lots of sex just for fun. Once you enter the realm of fertility treatments, it is hard to think about sex for anything but conception. I hope you are one of the lucky ones who get preggers while waiting for fertility appointments.
