High blood pressure - dr. didn't seem to care :-/

I thought with pre eclampsia you didn't always have all symptoms  like others said I think they should do something for your bp x

I'm sorry but I don't agree with your midwife, I'm a midwife and I would never let someone go home with that BP reading- it may just be pregnancy induced hypertension but that would still need treatment.

This is from NICE https://www.nice.org.uk/nicemedia/live/13098/50418/50418.pdf

-Severe hypertension diastolic blood pressure 110 mmHg or greater, systolic blood pressure 160 mmHg or greater requires admission/ medication/ close observation.

Please read page 16 & 17 showing management of raised BP.

I am in no way trying to scare you, this is just how the last 3 hospitals that I have worked in have done things.

Does your hospital have a day assessment unit? I would advise you to attend and get yourself and baby monitored.

A dermatologist?! Thats a.doctor that specializes in skin care..... 160/110 is way to high, protein or.not. they should have at the very least prescribed you a.medication to lower it, if not admitted.you! Definately call for a second opinion! Thats very dangerous!
All GPs have a specialist field.

My own doctor is only worried about pre-eclampsia if there is a combo of two symptoms, either high blood pressure, protein in urine or oedema, but I would also definitely advise getting a second opinion in a situation like this.
