Hi ladies would love some advice please?!

My bp is normally 105/65 or 110/70
At my MW app yesterday it had risen to 124/84 and she seemed very concerned and told us to go to hospital, she continued with my routine check up and then took it again and it was down to 116/76 and she seemed happier with this but said I had to go back in one week rather than two to have it checked again but in the meantime go straight to hospital if I got headaches etc

My wee was absolutely fine btw

I've just checked my bp again after a day of chilling out and it's 137/87 (that's the lowest reading I got) made OH take his and his was only 124

What should I do???

I cannot believe you were told to go to a hospital over any of those readings!

None of them are "high".

For a 34 weeks pregnant lady like yourself, none of those numbers are cause for concern especially with nothing suspicious in your urine.

How odd. Are your "midwives" actually nurses in the UK?

It's not about it being high, it's the fact that it is very high for me. That's what they go by over here rather than a general reading I think?!

Give your midwife a call. Have you checked it again since you posted this?

My blood pressur was very high at my appointment this week, highest reading they took was 150/98! I had to go back to the midwife the next day wher it was slightly lower and within a 'normal' range. Got to go back to be checked again on Tuesday, I don't have any other symptoms like headaches or vision issues either and wee was fine. My midwife said its most likely to be pregnancy induced hypertension.
I'm monitoring mine at home too and if mine was as high as it was previously I would phone my midwife just to be on the safe side. Maybe you should to put your mind at rest. Hope all that waffle has helped?! :flow:

Sounds fine to me. I cant believe she told you to go to hospital either! I wouldnt worry, just keep an ey eon it :hugs:. PS, mine was 206/111 whan I had to deliver Molly, then you would need to worry lol.

the home bp machines can sometimes be wrong but if u r worried then phone the hospital xxx

to be honest those all sound totally normal to me hun :hugs: bp varies minute by minute, you'd only want to worry if it's above 140/90 constantly xx

Thanks ladies! I called the hospital and they said no need to worry unless bottom number goes above 90, I get other symptoms or LOs movements stop

ignore vintage stupid reply!! made me rant sorry lol

hun i was the same, last Tuesday my M/W made me go to hospital and i was kept in for 48 hours as my BP was 136/93 and then it went down to 126/83 but still classed as high as for me my usual bp is 100/50

Phone your m/w or your local hospital delivery suite explain whats been happening and what readings you have just got, and they may get you in for monitoring, better safe then sorry.

Every women has a "different" classification in high BP .. take it easy xx

Thanks sam, thought I was just being stupid but that was my understanding too

this has nothing to do with ur post but i saw at the end of your signature that you contracted the parvo virus at 8 weeks??? I have only heard of dogs getting parvo is it passed to humans as well? or a completely different virus?

Hmmmm. Embojet and Angelbunny agreed with me also. Would they be stupid as well or is that reserved for me?

High blood pressure runs in my family and Ive taken heart medication for 14 years. Think I have a just a teensy bit of knowledge about blood pressure levels.

Google is your friend if I'm an idiot.

I'm delivering in 10 days due to my BP being 160/100 or very close to that continually, including vision changes and headache. My BP is normally NEVER higher than 120/70 ever

Your BP is a bit elevated for you, which can make you not feel well, and it can rise very quickly, I suggest taking it easy, no stress, etc and lots and lots of water.

Parvo virus is HORRIBLE to get as a human, and its very different from what a dog gets. It makes you feel like you Have severe rheumatoid arthritis. I had it a few years ago... you can get it like a cold. But you only get It once thank goodness

That is what they go by here too. It is not about a specific number, it is about what your bp is now compared to what it has been before... if it is significantly higher than previous readings then they will do some testing and check for other signs of pre eclampsia.

She had mentioned her urine was clear, free of protein, etc. That's why some of us wondered about a night in the hospital over a reading that wasn't even 140/90.
Hardly worthy of "stupid."

Oh dear I didn't want anyone to get upset over this post, just wanted some advice - sorry!
On a happy note, bp has gone down quite a bit now to 120/90, still a bit high for me but MW said to only worry if the numbers go over that :)
