Hi ladies.
I'm currently 7-8 weeks pregnant with number 5 and have had gestational diabetes with my last two pregnancies.
The last couple of weeks I've been feeling crap after eating so have taken the occasional finger prick test, all with high readings.

Is it possible to have gestational diabetes so early, or have I slipped into Type II at some stage without noticing?

I'll raise it at my first midwife appointment in three weeks, but am curious now.

I was diagnosed with GD at 8 weeks, you probably had insulin resistancy before pregnancy, that's why your sugar levels are high so early.

Ah, thanks for that. I seriously didn't think you could get it so early!
I assume that means by the end of the pregnancy it could be pretty bad...?

Probably, doctors told me they're 100% sure I'll need insulin, only question is when, maybe even next week:wacko:

Ugh... i needed insulin with my last pregnancy and never felt great...
