high bp after birth

hiya,

pre pregnancy, i had a naturally low bp ~ 90/60. i started having high bp in the last few weeks of pregnancy and was admitted to hospital every week. DOH

well ive just had my post natal check (8 weeks after brth) and bp is still high. 125/99...its the bottom number they are concerned about

anyone else have this and know why it is still high? have to get checked in 2 weeks again. i dont smoke and am not overweight so its even more worrying

I had exactly this. Were you put on any drugs? i was in labetalol to try and bring it down, i stopped taking this three weeks ago. Mine has finally gone back to normal but it did take about 10 weeks after the birth. Have you been feeling dizzy at all? I find this is a symptom that my bp is getting lower. It finally seems to have stopped now and is all back to normal 15 weeks after giving birth.
everyone i spoke to said it can just take time to get back to normal. Fingers crossed for you.
