High bp and started on meds! But not hypertension!

Hi,girls
I'm FTM at 30weeks. At my appt,I had high bp. Doctor said although I am not hypertensive as of now,I'm prone to develop hypertension during the course of pregnancy. Right now on meds!

Anyone in the same situation?

I think its a little strange for him to put you on meds if he is saying your not hypertensive yet. Would it not be better to monitor your BP more closely and then put you on meds if the need arises?

Although the medication is safe for baby, I would be concerned about the BP going too low as that is not good either. I would ask your Dr about this as it sounds he is trying to prevent it from getting worse but treating a problem that doesn't exist yet.

Thank you, rayne. I would take to my doctor about it at my next appt. I do feel I'm getting some hypotensive episodes
