So my FSH level came back as 13.6. I'm going to see the fertility doctor today.

But those of you with high fsh levels... what happens?

Did you keep trying on your own? do IUI's/IVF? medication?

Just trying to figure out what may lie ahead for me. Thanks ladies.

ETA: i'm 30 years old.

I was very upset when I first found out because my OB said we needed to consider egg donation. I am 31. However... When we went to the FS she ws less concerned. Mine was 15.5 at the highest. She said FSH is a factor of how many eggs, age predicts the quality of the eggs. She indicated it wasn't an urgent situation but better to be in getting help now than waiting until my late 30s. We are going with IUI for a few cycles to try to up our odds vs trying on our own. Getting impatient. :)

I started using the highest dose(12.5) of Femara in March and had 3 follicles for an IUI. The IUI wasn't successful for round 1 but we were able to conquer the FSH issue with the Femara. Good luck to you! :)

Is Femara injectibles? so that was a medicated IUI?

Femara is a pill - similar to Clomid. It is supposed to have less side effects and not thin the lining of your uterus like Clomid does. I had hot flashes and headaches with it but nothing unbearable. We will be doing the same again this month with the medicated IUI.

My FSH result was 17 month before last. So they would not refer me on the NHS. My gyno said it was very unusual. I have very reg afs and for 3 days each time etc etc. So I am having it re done this cycle. Just hope and pray as it needs to be below 10 to be accepted for IVF on NHS.

We are originally being reffered as hubby has sperm issues.

PLEASE PLEASE be nice to us just once is all I keep praying

Good luck. Hope it goes ok for you

Oh and BTW, it is also connected to twins in the family! My Grandads bro's were twins and my sister is 30 weeks with twins now.

Xxx

You need to have more than one test as it can fluctuate!
