I have just come from my 12 week scan with devastating news. They have scored me at 7.5mm nuchal translucency & have told me to prepare for the worst. I'm going for a CVS tomorrow so will hopefull find out in the next few days the results. I was wondering if anyone else had this & had a good outcome ???

I had a real thick nuchal fold measurement at 20 weeks (even though I always thought they weren't meant to do it that late) as well as them thinking they couldn't see a nasal bone (it showed up clearly on a private scan) and I got the whole 'prepare for the worst' thing.. she's nearly 3 months now and absolutely fine :) x

Hi Hun,

Did they find any other soft markers? My NT this preg was 3.2mm so i did a lot of research and did find many stories of positive outcomes. I would hold on until your CVS and then you will at least know for sure.

I'm sending good vibes and hoping that you can stay as calm as possible until then xx

Hugs love, it must be so worrying.

We had a result of 1:21 for down syndrome based on bloods and NT for my current pregnancy. We have chosen not to do any further testing as for us the risk of loss from the procedures was more of a concern and the result would not change what we did in regards to our pregnancy. Luckily our 20 week scan was okay so risk is now ~2% but there is always the worry until he/she makes their arrival.

Having been through the worry I have done quite a bit of reading and there are lots of causes for a higher NT and there are many positive stories around. I truly hope yours is one of them.

Wishing you all the best for your CVS and thinking of you xx
