for the past few nights as i try to roll from one side to another i feel like my hips are going to come out of their sockets. it is such an odd feeling but it hurts too! is this just my hips getting looser and widening up for baby to pass through?? it only happens during the night. i'm a ftm so i'm so clueless! 33+3 days! and i also believe i've been losing parts of my mucus plug for the past week now... snotty and clumped (tmi sorry) but is that something i should be worrying about?? i've read quite a few different answers on other sites!

I know the pain your in it HURTS!! but sorry to say it doesn't get any better now at 39 weeks i can only really lie on each side for an hour at a time...so between this and toilet trips you dont get a good sleep. I think its just all your muscles relaxing. The only thing that slightly helps is if you can lie on something soft ie the quilt another blanket?? Sometimes being pregnant sucks😒 x

The hip pain is normal. Uncomfortable but normal. I get painful hip spasms when I'm walking around :/

At 33 weeks, losing some plug is something you should mention to your doctor. Many women lose it that early and it regenerates itself unless you have more like a bloody show. Then you should call your doctor immediately @33wks.

Re the mucus plug, it is difficult to say really. some women can lose it rather early and it is nothing to worry about as it can regenerate itself. it is not always a sign of impending labour. it can happen weeks before labour or days.

If you are worried though speak with your midwife/doctor, especially if you get any other symptoms. I lost my mucus plug at 32 weeks and my son was born at 32+3, but everybody is different. I had other symptoms though e.g. back ache, period like pains, pains in legs, pressure in pelvis and then eventually contractions. But some of my friends lost some of their mucus plug many weeks before delivery.

thank you ladies! you all are so helpful! I only get bad back pain along with a contraction about once a day so I'm not too concerned about the bits of my mucus plug, but I will still definitely mention it to my dr. As far as the hip pain, it sucks and I figured this was just the beginning.... but just wanted to check with you guys and see if it was normal at this time. But soon enough my little man will be here!!! :happydance:

I thought I lost my mucus plug, but then at 38 weeks on the dot I REALLY lost it lol. You will know, it was HUGE! If you lose a huge chunk before 37 weeks, just mention it to your midwife. :)
