I popped into into my local Asda today to ask about the TENS machine. At first the guy behind the pharmacy counter told me they don't rent them but I can buy. I point out the banner I am standing next to which clearly states 'Rent or buy TENS machine here'.
His reply 'Oh, I'll just find out'.
Out pops another guy who he asks and he brings over a small box. This guy then goes on to explain that they provide a voucher which is £10 and I can use this against the hire of the Mama TENS.

Below is the conversation that followed:

'Right, so how much is the hire of the Mama TENS with the voucher included?'
To which he replies 'I think its £25'.
'So let me get this right, you are saying that I can get that voucher for £10 then pay an additional £25 to hire the machine. So in total £35?'
'Yup'
'So isn't it cheaper to hire directly without getting this so-called money off voucher as it is £29.95 to hire'.
'Uhhh...I think I got that wrong. It's £10 off the £25.'
'You clearly do not have a clue. Is there anyone else that I can assist me?'
'Not until tomorrow now.'
'Ok, I'll pop in tomorrow then'.

So my question is does anyone know how the voucher thing works at Asda? I am going to pop in after work tomorrow but I believe I will prob get more informed answers from you lovely ladies.

Sounds like a bloomin' idiot! Sorry no idea how it works at Asda but to say that I bought an Elle Tens from ebay for £30 incl. p&p this week and then I plan on bunging it back on there afterwards!

Just hired Mama Tens from Tesco. No voucher, but very simple and I think £27.50 for up to 5 weeks hire. Give that a go! xx

:rofl::rofl:
Seems like a fun convo you had there. Moss chemists hire them out too and I think i saw an advert for them at £20 for two weeks, but this was a while ago  Does anyone know how much they are to buy? xx

Actually thinking about it, i can't say for sure if it was Moss chemists, so don't quote me on that, but it was defo a...er...chemist lol

Hopefully I'll get to speak to someone who actually knows about the TENS machine tomorrow, but I won't hold my breath. I forgot to add the 1st bloke I spoke to tried to convince me that the TENS machine is not created for birth but only back pain! Uhhh...yeh sure mate!

My mum told me that her friend's daughter hired it for the £10 from Asda. So was hoping they could confirm if that was the case. But no such luck!

ive just brought a tens machine from my chemist for £29.99
its a good one especially for labour.

i found that the outlay for hiring was about the same cost of buying one so might as well buy it!

xx
