Hiya all, I'm a newbie looking for advice please

Secondary means you have had a child already and have issues now.

Ahhh, I see, thank you :flower:

See I have no idea... hardly learnt much did we... :nope:

But as I haven't had / got children is this still secondary for us? xx

I apologize, I thought you did...you meant DH.:hugs: No, it's not secondary, it's primary unexplained infertility. Your docs suck.:growlmad::hugs:

Ahh, now I see, I have learnt more from you here than we did with months of visiting the gyne.... Thank you so much! :hugs::hugs:

Yes I figure that you are right, our Gyne does suck... ( or rather all the gyne's/ understudy's that we saw) :sad1: Hubby did think that pretty much from the start.... I came away almost each time we had an appointment in tears, I just felt so useless and so many questions unanswered...

I think I need to go back to the GP and see what she suggests..... But i still don't know what questions to ask...

Thanks again :hugs: :flower:

We have a thread by Sus09, called "Doc appt," you will find a lot of info there...please come join.:flower:

Also, IDK what your weight is or if you are overweight at all, but it can be a factor; I am NOT saying it should be the sole focus, but a lot of NHS docs seem to harp on the weight issue.:hugs:

Take it all with a grain of salt and see what works best for you....

Hiya dachsundmom.

I am overweight - but again I get conflicting advice on this, my BMI is 32/31 now, the gyne said for further treatment it needs to be 30 or less they said my ideal would be 26. I am what I am, and as much as i'd love to be slimmer I am not sure it'll ever really be me? When I lost a lot of weight I didn't feel as well as I do now... I spoke to a midwife who didn't recommend lots of hard exercise and going to the gym as much as I did, so sometimes you really don't know what to do for the best!

Some time ago I had a back prob and was on steroids, I ballooned! I have lost about 4 and half stone since then, and back to being pretty fit and healthy (I had always had horses and other animals and took care of them myself, so i'd class myself as a healthy person on the whole!)

I used to work out really hard at the gym, but whilst I lost inches my weight stopped the same, when I first started on clomid though it went up! :growlmad:

I live a healthy lifestyle, eat healthy, but yes I am 'overweight' but my hubby has said that seemed to be the only thing they could say to me ( and I did loose wight ) and he flipped when we last saw the gyne, saying 70/80% of women locally were much larger and certainly not as fit as me with children! Funny how that was all he could say and couldn't answer any other questions....

Aaaaaanyway..... I am concentrating on staying positive..... so, tonight I went for an acupuncture session... I will start another thread on it.... :flower:

Well, this is unexplained fertility; I have the same diagnosis. You want answers, for there to be some sort of problem, but no one can find it.

This means, that if weight is the only thing a doc can find, he/she will keep pointing it out; very frustrating.

If you feel fine and all of your tests are within the normal range, than weight may not be an issue. I certainly agree that a hard work-out isn't the best idea, but light/moderate exercise is never a bad thing.:hugs:

It feels sooo good to speak to someone who understands! But big :hugs::hugs: to you for having to go through the same, it's so frustrating isn't it, I thought if there was something that was 'wrong' then that could be addressed and we could work on sorting it , to find nothing kind of makes it all quite desperate for me...

Thanks again for your reply :hugs::flower: xxxx

Flipperty I think it's terrible that you've been given such conflicting info :growlmad:. The only thing I can add to what the girls have already said is you will learn more on this forum than anywhere else  (I speak from experience and I work in obs and gynae) these ladies really know their stuff. I think paying a visit to sus's doc's appointment thread is a great idea and so is going back to your GP and being asked to be referred elsewhere. It's awful that you're being put on medication and no-one's explaining what it's for. By the time I got to see the FS I was armed to the hilt with questions, opinions and charts thanks to the girls so the more info you have the more confident you'll feel when you go into these consultations. And you should never be made to feel like these people haven't got enough time for you, that's just wrong. I wish you lots of luck on your TTC journey! :hugs:

Hiya Keekeesaurus

Thanks for your reply :flower:

I agree, I have learnt more from here than i ever did in months since being referred to the Hospital Gyne/specialist!

My plan of action is to call my GP tomorrow to book an appointment to discuss whats happened and where we go from here... I have started Acupuncture too so I will be informing her of this.

I wish I'd come on here months ago before starting to ttc, but I didn't so there is no point looking back - i did try to look into as much as possible and did ask questions etc - just didn't get any answers!

I had no idea what the 21 day bloods were for or what the levels meant so I did learn that from the net - which was why I found out when having a cycle of 47 plus days meant it couldn't have been a 'true' reading/indicator!

Today i phoned the gynes sec, as she hadn't got back to me from last Friday!

I was asking what to do about the tablets i was on, I still have a cycle worth of clomid and a weeks worth of Metformin left - I wanted to know what I was supposed to do - today I have been told to take the last lot of Clomid if I want to - but to stop the Metformin and I can stop them straight away I don't need to come off them slowly....

It's been left that as it's unexplained infertility there is no more they can do for me and I will have to go elsewhere, ( so I think we are talking private - they gave us some addresses last time we went to see the gyne last week, which is when we looked into going Private)

Like I say I will go see my GP explain things, tell her about the acupuncture and see where we go....

I will go look on the other threads later and have a good read up :flower:

Well, I guess these things can only make us stronger eh!:flower:
