Hiya! new here + quick Q about engagement rings?

Hiya!!!
Well me and OH have decided to tie the knot (after being together 8 years and producing one gorgeius LO)

however I dont have an engagement ring as yet coz OH wanted me to choose one.

Problem is there is way too much choice and dont know where to start!

Was just wondering what rings all you ladies have and if you have any pics you wanna share?

I have a marquise cut diamond on a platinum band, with a made to fit wedding band being made at the moment!

Yeah, because the V at the bottom of my diamond is quite deep, my wedding band needed to be specially made. It only cost about £100 more than the actual cost of the band, and it wasnt too much of a hassle at all apart from being without my engagement ring for a fortnight while they made a mould xxx

I would narrow it down section by section... what metal do you prefer, what stone do you prefer, multiple or solitaire. You also need to know roughly how much you're spending. You should have a starting point then to go to a shop and browse - there's no reason why you can't go in and have a good nose without buying anything.

I chose my first engagement ring, and I just saw it in a shop window and knew it was the one immediately. My second was a surprise, but very similar (diamond solitaire on a plain white gold band). I'm yet to receive an engagement ring from my now husband, as he had been made redundant and I was pregnant when we decided to get married. So we have agreed that I'll be getting a really posh one for our 5th anniversary!

I just read that back and realised I sound like a right floozy

think i'll go for white gold, solitare but there are so many different shapes + sizes!
think a massive browsing spree is on the cards!

won't be over the top right now as we cant afford it, but OH has said he'll get me a posh one 2 as and when.

Found one that i like but think its a bit out of my price range!

Custom made, marquise diamond on a platinum band.

My wedding ring is a plain platinum D comfort ring, the stone on my engagement ring is raised high enough so that I didn't need to get a bit cut out.
