Seriously, this is the worst my face has ever looked in my entire life. I'm embarassed to even go outside! I used to use 10% benzoyl peroxide cream but my doctor told me to stop as that isn't good in pregnancy, and now I look like a teenage going thru puberty! I hope this evens out soon!

UGH! Sorry, just had to rant a bit :dohh:

Ur not alone Hun x I woke this morning and nearly cried when I seen them! I'm used to the odd one on my chin but this is not fun :(

I'm surprised your doctor told you to quit using benzoyl peroxide. My doctor told me it was completely safe and I have been using it on my face & chest daily. But, I have had bad breakouts, too... Thank goodness my doc didn't take away my benzoyl peroxide!! Do you have breakouts all over (chest & back) or just your face? What did your doc say about Salycilic acid?

Benzolyn Perxiode is perfectly safe to use --- it's the acid one that isn't.

I use proactiv which has salylic acid in it and was told it was. I called the company to check too and they said it was fine x

If you want to try a more natural method, I had terrible back acne that was cured but apple cider vinegar. I'd have my husband use a cotton swab and put it on my back every night for a few weeks before I went to bed. Smelled horrible but was worth it! Now that I'm pregnant, the back acne is back and the apple cider vinegar smell is too much for me so I'm going to try applying rosewater now. I'll let you ladies know if I have any results with that.

My face was breaking out the first few weeks but I've been washing gently 4 times a day with Cetaphil and it's cleared up.

Goodluck!

Omg me too my skin is absolutely disgusting! Before I was pregnant I was using Benzoyl peroxide cream (Panoxyl wash 10%) and Differin gel.. which worked beautifully for me, never had a spot whilst i was using it! Now ive been told to stop using them my face has erupted!! Its so bad that ive started using the panoxyl wash again and just not using the differin gel cos i know differin gel can be really dangerous to use. I know I probably shouldnt use benzoyl peroxide and i do feel kinda bad but i did internet searches and plenty of people still seem to use it and it seems to be classed as okay to use during pregnancy so i dont know if my doctor was just being over cautious..

I am thinking of stopping it though cus it doesnt really seem to be working without the differin gel. I cant wait to start using it all and to have clear skin again after ive given birth!

I AM SO DISGUSTED BY MY FACE!

Dude, when I say my face is horrible, I mean, HORRIBLE. I am using benzoyl P, with not results...I just bought a Mia ClariSonic face brush, and I have been using it for 1 1/2 weeks, not clearing up yet, but I heard that it will make ur pores purge themselves before it clears...

Plz God make it stop! and I am hispanic, so i scar really dark...ugh...acne and scars...the worst!

i have terrible acne :(

its getting me so down :(

I used to have very severe acne as a teen 13-16yrs and i used to get bullied for it. My skin has been pretty clear for years now, it only flared up after having the rod in my arm (progesterone only!!) and it never went back 100% clear but was hardly noticeable just around my chin....

im now 5 weeks and 3 days and im getting full blown acne :( all those old feelings are coming back and i feel so depressed. I dont know what to do :(

Will it actually go after the 1st trimester??
I know that estrogen (when i went on a high estrogen pill called dianette) clears my skin up amazing so i must have had low estrogen as a teen causing the terrible acne. And right now i obv have low estrogen and hiiighhh progestrogen because of the 1st trimester...

all i can say is only NATURAL things work. natural oils etc so do some hardcore research on NATURAL ways to clear skin.

i am just praying it clear end of 1st trimester, im having nightmares that it'll get worse and worse the whole pregnancy :(

im really healthy with food so i know its not diet!

Im worried about this too. I keep thinking if its this bad and im only 12 weeks, whats it going to be like by third trimester. I'll probably be too ashamed to leave the house! And then theres all the pictures that will be taken at the birth.. the first pictures of me and my baby and i'll look hideous in them cus of all the spots :( depressing!

I know theres a lot worse things that could be going on and we should be greatful etc etc, and i am! but acne is still a horrible thing and it really ruins self confidence!

BFA- big fat acne on my lip and right cheeck now. DH keeps bursting them.....hate it.

I am having it now too, and I am in my 30s, so embarrassing :( And we have a get-together with friends this weekend that we haven't seen in years, so of course I will look horrible for that. I had beautiful skin with my first two (boys). I can only hope that maybe it means this one's a girl! (old wives' tale, I know) I've heard in some cases it goes away after the first trimester, but others it continues throughout the pregnancy. Fingers crossed it's the first case!

I had horrible acne with both of my first two pregnancies... all the way through. I look at pictures and think "yikes!!" I would get so angry at all the info that women should "glow" when they're pregnant, and I was ashamed to show my face!

I'm praying this time the acne stays away!!! (denial)

Ugh lucky us...I hate this! Pimples all over my chin, just like when I was 15! And my back and chest are just so bumpy with a few spots here and there. It does mess withyour confidence a bit, and I have a birthday party tomorrow night where my friends haven't seen me in a month- I had perfect skin on the pill and they will be shocked. Yikes! Worth it, I don't like it but I'll take it any day over not having my bean inside me and growing :)

I've been getting quite bad spots and I've never really suffered with them before, I've been finding using an over night tea tree (or aloe vera for sensitive skinned ladies) treatment over night (mines from the body shop) really helps, and in the day I've been using Benefit 'boo boo zap' which has salicylic acid in it and acts as a barrier so I can apply make up over the spots :) Also an oil free moisturiser xx

My face has been HORRIBLE too!!! It's gotten better the past few days, but I'm getting bad cystic acne (which is hormonal), little bitty spots, and cystic acne all on my neck and chest! It's horrid! It's been getting worse because my skin has been so dry. I've loaded on the moisturizer which has helped. Be sure to wash your face in the morning and night with a good face wash and acne cream. I LOVE the DermaDoctor Ain't Misbehaving face wash (got it at Sephora, I really recommend it for all skin types. It has great reviews on their site). It doesn't dry your skin out at all, & it leaves it feeling SO soft. Also it actually kind of burns, but it does a FABULOUS job at getting rid of acne. I also have prescription benzoyl cream. x

Here's the link to the face wash if you're interested. Sephora has a great return policy as well in case you didn't like it

BTW... Where is that "GLOW" that pregnant women are supposed to have!?!?!?!! :( I'm not seeing it lol. The only thing I've been told by my grandma is my face looks fuller and my skin is horrible LOL. Not so attractive

I'm not sure, it was the only thing he told me by name not to use. Probably because my skin was so bad when I was in there. TBH, I found 2% salicylic acid pads and I'm going to use them. Also, my moisturizer has .5% SA in it, and I'm not going to stop using that either. My face is awful, and my residents and co-workers are asking me if I'm enjoying the hormones. Embarassing. Also, I'm going to start using my St. Ives apricot scrub again. Helps to exfoliate all the crap off and seems to help a bit.

I use neutrogena products and while I do see some clearing.....they come and go.

And I know when I am pg when I see micro tiny bumps like tiny heat rash come on all over my face then my face goes from dark to super light as if I have liver's spots.

UPDATE: The Mia ClariSonic Brush is working with BP facewash. It's not perfect yet, but totally BETTER. I will never stop using this brush!
