Just interested inhow many of us make home made baby food or use jars?

I used to do abit of both but more so jars until about 3 weeks ago and now everything I do is home made.

I now love making all of Olivias food home made as I know exactly whats in it and whats not. I had the Annabel Karmel 100 top baby Puress but since buying the baby and toddler meal planner I find all this home made baby food a doddle, I really couldnt have done it with out the books though as I would never of thought of adding things like grape to chicken and courgette etc.

Don't get me wrong I have a few jars in still, just incase we go out fo a full day and I havent anything made etc & I still buy a few of the ellas kitchen purees for pudding no and again.

I plan on making food for when we are at home, but using jars when out and about.

I voted for home made only - just started but I'm loving making food for Sam (just bought half of Sainsburys tonight so I've probably got enough to make food for 600 or so babies this weekend ) but will take jars if we're going away for a weekend or something, as at least I won't need to worry about having to keep them refrigerated etc. before they're used x

Jars - she didn't like my cooking

This is what I'm worried about...I thought it would be nice to have a video of Sam's first taste of food - I've never seen anyone look so disgusted by anything  x

I used jars mainly up until she was 12 months - few reasons, I REALLY love cooking but living with so many people and not having the space, not my freezer, not my kitchen.. not my house to do what I want (we live at boyfriends parents, 7 of us altogether here). We have a bit of shelf space and a shelf in the fridge, but we never have enough room.

If we had our own place when she was tiny, it would have been a very different story. I make her everything home made now though and I find it much easier at her age now (ingredients etc).

Plus the convenience of it all as well, we still stock up on some baby puddings that she loves now.

I make all of Erica's food. Its easy, and I buy organic stuff at the store. I know she isn't getting additives and stuff. However, when we just went on vacation, I gave her a couple of jars, but it was organic. I felt kinda bad tho. DH wanted me to bring my food processor and make it all fresh, but that seemed like way too much work.

I only give Colton jars. Just out of ease, I guess. I'm a bad cook. I dont know what we are going to do when he starts eating our food. We dont cook anything that would be really healthy for him :dohh: I think his jars are better than what we eat!
I usually check the ingredients list in his food.. usually there's just whats in it.. maybe some water added too.. I'm not sure what the difference is between the regular jars and the 'organic' jars.

Organic jars just basically mean pure, no additives at all.

I would love to make his food, but I cant cook either lol.. Think its better he's on jars. Mostly use HiPP Organic stuff x

i said a bit of both but its mainly jars now since im back at work. its just so much easier and i know he likes them!!

 Joe was like this, he hated my cooking  Katie loves it though and it means I have alot more to do :dohh: but she gets both. She gets a jar in the morning with her toast as she hates weetabix, ready brek etc. If I'm busy she'll get jars again for lunch with fruit and yogurts but she always gets my food in the evening :)

I only gave carly jars but will try and give ella homemade , but will do abit of both as it depends if im in a rush or need to be somewhere a jar will need to be used or in town and have no food on me ;)

We haven't used any jars yet. We might do if we need to when we travel.

For the moment, I cook and freeze his meals in small portions so I always have something handy. I've stocked up both our freezers - here in Ireland and also in N. Ireland. I put something aside for Ryan whenever I cook.

I'm making all the food so far, but we've really just now getting started properly. We've been taking it veeery slow since we introduced solids :D. But I think I will try to avoid the jars as long as possible for two reasons: price and taste. Here there's only one brand and from what I've heard it's not very yummy at all. And it's expensive so I hope I can make food that he likes instead :munch:

jars

i dont trust my cooking  but later I will cook for him

I voted a bit of both but it is mostly my own cooking, he gets the dessert jars, he wont eat the meals he has to have table food, but he does take the little Hipp ready made meals for 12 months, he loves them.
