I'm currently staying on my friends sofa with Gracie! My mom has said we have to go as we clash to much & it's alot of strain on my mothers mental health issues. I have a meeting Wednesday at a young persons homeless department.. Does anybody know what will happen next?! Will they exspect me to stay on people's sofas or do I get the option of a mother and baby unit? How long am
I looking on waiting for my own place? Currently I'm working 16 hours so will they exspect me to be able to afford rent?! Please help :( don't understand how all this works!

hello, i think you would get put into a bed and breakfast, which i think can be upto 8 weeks until you get sorted with accomodation.
i really hope things work out for you, and i wish you all the best of luck with everything x

Thank you so much for your kindness! I hope it does too. Don't really like the idea of being in a hostel or anything.. My friends said ican stay as long as I like at their places.. Just feel bad but alot safer staying with people I know. Maybe this will take longer me staying else where tho! X

It depends on your area/councils.

They will defo help you find a place, but as you're working they may help you move in to private accommodation. A lot of the time the council will pay the deposit for you and you'll be entitled to housing benefit to make up the rent. Or they might put you in a hostel in the wait for a council property the hostels are not too bad and some can be like mini flats but the waits can be long, my friend wait 18 months before finally getting her flat.

Don't tell the council you have a friends sofa to stay on for as long as you like, they'll leave you there, some councils will only help you the day you are officially homeless because then you are in priority need and have a kid so they find you a suitable hostel. I

I hope everything is okay now, or at least in the process of being okay.. I just wanted to send you loads of :hugs: and
