ihave 90% decided on my name... my partners surname is love... so
honey-louise love. my only worry is people shortening it to honey love!!
the other choice is christie-louise love but i much prefer honey so whaddya think??

I'd expect it to be shortened to just Honey. But it isn't that often that people are addressed by their first and second names, so if you love the name, I say go with it :)

I think with the surname Love a first name Honey is really not a good idea even hyphenated with another more traditional name. Most people end up only saying the first half of two part first names anyway regardless of what you intend or even what the person with that name wants (I know a Holly-Louise who got called Holly constantly despite asking to be called her full first name).

Aside from issues from the issues with having a two part first name Honey with the last name Love sounds a little like a stage name chosen by someone who works as a exotic dancer, its very overly sweet and may be hard to take seriously when she applies for jobs later on.

There are other names which have the meaning Honey if that is special to you. Melissa means honey bee for example and is a very pretty name.

I think Honey is a lovely name, and goes really well with the surname! My only advice would be possibly to rethink the middle name - as much as it sounds nice, Honey is a really unique name, whereas I can think of five of my friends off the top of my head who have the middle name "Louise"!
It does sound lovely, of course, I just thought I'd let you know that Louise is pretty common for a middle name at the moment :)

Ahh, I've just realised you're double-barrelling Honey-Louise, so my point is null and void. Having one of those evenings! I think Honey-Louise as a first name is absolutely beautiful, and a lot more interesting than Christie-Louise, IMO, although both are very pretty :)

aw thank u so much, im really tickled pink with the name but its just peoples first reaction when i tell them lol xx:kiss:

honey is a nice name but a lot of people call their partners or even babies/kids/grown up kids honey like a sweetie/cupcake. i call my hubby and baby honey too. i voted for the 2nd one-christie louise.

As the other ladies have said, not everyone will call her Honey-Louise all the time. I know I'd get sick of saying it and just call her Honey! Also agree that Honey Love sounds a bit like an exotic dancer xx

Honey-Louise Love sounds really cute, but maybe a tad too "cutesy".... And i do think it will get shortened to Honey Love.

You seem to LOVE the name Honey-Louise though so i say go for it... you should love your baby's name!!!!!!

Personally i would choose Christie-Louise Love, though.

i absolutely adore it.. i know its not everyones cup of tea but it feels so right and even my son is calling my bump honey xx thanks to everyone again x

I have always liked whimsical names but I have personally come to realise we need to be reasonable in our name choices. I think you are probably best to take a step back and see how people are going to react to her name. Lots of people are going to shorten it to Honey Love. It can be difficult in some environments like work, school, introducing to people etc.

Whilst I am not saying you should call her Jessica or Jane (not that there is anything wrong with these names). Perhaps you could change it around a bit. I think Louise Love is a beautiful name and you could have honey as the middle name or nickname so you can use it as her name but she can choose where to disclose that her middle name is honey.

My vote is for something like Louise Honey Love. Or you could use another romantic/whimsical middle name to break it up a bit like Louise Honey Juliet Love?

Of course this is just my opinion as a stranger.

so whaddya think??

I don't like the name honey at all. That's a name a child would get teased with (I know someone who is named honey and she hates it. She said she got teased all her life. Now she is considering changing her name legally.)

I think both names you have chosen are lovely.
My little God-sister is called Honey and we all call her 'Honey Bee' as a nickname, hehe :)

Well you asked, so i'm going to be honest. I always feel bad if I'm not fond of someones name but never say anything but since you asked...

I really dislike Honey. I agree with others that it will get shortend to Honey Love, and it does seem like an exotic dancer. I feel in college and as an adult she will have trouble being taken seriousy and might get teased in school. I think Honey is a cute nickname but as a regular first name, especially with Love as the surname I think its just setting her up for a hard time.

I adore Christie though!! It sounds great with the last name Love!
