We have been ttc for over a year now I had a blighted ovum pregnancy in April. I decided to go see the doctor just to see if I had anything to worry about and to air my concerns, the doctor decided to take some bloods, my results are in and my hormones are unbalanced. Has anyone had anything similar. My periods are regular just worried something worse is going to happen. If anyone has any advice or been through something similar I would be very grateful for your thoughts xxxx

I have two friends who had BO pregnancies and went on to have perfectly healthy next pregnancies. The doctors here were positive that it's just something that happens and is notcaused by anything hormonal. It's more likely to do with chemicals in food. Maybe switch to organic food?

Sorry to hear they have said about an hormonal imbalance; this is something I've been very worried about too.

It's understandable you are worried it could lead to complications. Have they made any suggestions for you in terms of getting your hormones balanced?

You should look deeply into hypothyroidism and PCOS. Those can both bring facial hair.

You doc just left it at a hormonal imbalance? Did he/she give you a direct diagnosis? IF not, I would demand one or find another Dr. They will completely waste your time and money if you do not stay on top of them, be your own advocate, do your own research etc.

There are natural herbs you can take to balance your hormones. I suggest you meet with your dr. get a diagnosis, or at least your test results and take them to a fertility acupuncturist that is also an herbalist. Trust me. Acupuncture does truly work. It will bring your hormones into balance and it is a lot cheaper than IVF and other things of the sort.

Don't be discouraged. My other suggestion is to stop using all products with chemicals. Lotions, soaps, shampoos all have ingredients that will throw your hormones off. A lot of them contain estrogens. Throw them out and never use them again. If your skin needs moisture, use raw coconut oil. Go to your organic market, whole foods or wherever to buy natural soaps, shampoos and all of the likes. I highly encourage you to only consume organic foods as well. If you are in the US, the food is packed full of toxins and most of the food is genetically modified (gmo) but guess what? They don't have to tell us what is real food and what is not. The results are high infertility rates. If you are not familiar with GMO food please look it up and look up Monsanto.

I know all of this because I have done the research, learned myself and I am getting a handle on all of my issues naturally.

I do have hypothyroidism and possibly pcos as well doc or gp hasn really confirmed it :/ waiting to see fertility specialist but think ill be waiting a while.

I have a hormonal imbalance, and PCOS. Possibly brought about by my weight. The Drs suggested trying to lose some weight to see if that would help. It appears that since losing around 20lbs, I've started to Ovulate again :) The imbalance was stopping me from ovulating, so I would have your Dr check whether or not you are ovulating as it's possible to not O & still have periods. I hope you're able to get some answers soon! I wonder if it's worth charting your temps so you can see for yourself whether or not you're ovulating? xx

Hi,

Try Acupuncture! It helped me to conceive my first daughter (born last year), after very fluctuating periods and I also had tests and was told my hormones were 'unbalanced'. My acupuncturist, Teresa Redding really helped get everything back on track and I went on to get pregnant. Have just started seeing her again to ttc baby no. 2!! Google her name to see her clinic locations.....in central London and south east London.
Good Luck, Tubby73 xx
