I am hoping to be able to breastfeed my baby girl when she is born. I am in the process of packing the hospital bags. Have muslin squares etc I was just wondering do I pack her dummies or leave them?

Leave them behind! It'll be too early to introduce one, any sucking needs should be met by the breast so early on, I certainly wouldn't ever introduce one before 6 weeks.
Xx

I agree. It is quite common for babies to be sleepy after birth so any time she is awake you want her on the breast, not sucking a breast substitute. I'm not anti-dummy by any means but they can really hinder a breastfeeding relationship if used early on.

Definitely leave them behind at first.

I have used dummies with both of mine but only once I was sure supply and latch were well established. The constant sucking in the early days is really important for your milk supply so I'd just let her be on the breast as much as possible instead :flower:

There will be just no need for them in the hospital hun x
