I thought everything was running smoothly this time round. Last time with DS I had to chase the hospital as they didn't bother to schedule my Anti-D appointment. I was hoping things would be better this time round as they have DS's birth to look back on, with my history of having GD which I told them about at my booking appointment. I got my Anti-D appointment date a few weeks back so was happy that all was on schedule.
Then I had my first consultant appointment. Started off fine, no issues with urine sample, or my blood pressure. Then I was asked about the GTT, to which I answered that I hadn't heard anything about it yet. It was then that I got told that I should've had one already 4 weeks ago at 16 weeks.
Now I never got told anything about a 16 week test, not at my booking appointment and wasn't mentioned at my 16 week midwife appointment either. All that was ever mentioned was the 28 week one. So I've now had to book a GTT asap, and the earliest is next Thursday. I've been given the paperwork for the bloods, but nothing about the test on how long it last, whether I need to fast, nor even the actual date they've booked me in for. I can only guess that I'm going to get something through the post about it.
The receptionist even rolled her eyes when I told her I needed to book the 28 week one as well, and the same applies with no paperwork with that one either. At least I know that'll I'll have to fast and how long that will last for.
The only good news that I got was that I'm fine to attempt a VBAC, as everything pointed to DS being oblique being the cause for my induction going wrong previously. I'll get the chance to give my final word on it at 36 weeks.
I'm just so annoyed that somehow I slipped through the cracks once more or something that classes me at high risk. If they can't get that right then it makes me wonder on just what else can go wrong.
