hospital visits

quick question.

am i entitled to say i do NOT want the babys father to come and visit me and the baby when i am in hospital? i have put on my birth plan i do not want him near me before during or after the birth. we have a very volatile relationship and cannot even get on for the babys sake. i do not need the stress of having him near me on my mind when im trying to bond with my baby. is this allowed for me to say i dont want him visiting?

You are perfectly entitled to not have him anywhere near you, just inform the hospital staff you dont want him there and they will make sure he cant get to you x

As the others have said, If you don't want him near you, he won't be allowed.. Simple.

Thanks ladies. Just he is banging on about 'having rights'. I thought if he wanted he would be allowed to visit the baby in hosp but I don't want him there!

He may have some rights.. but one of the rights he doesn't have is to waltz into the hospital and make things awkward or uncomfortable for you. Also if its the same in every hospital, he won't even be able to get onto the ward without the staff letting him in.

I'm thinking he will appear at visiting tim, same as other people and the staff won't say 'who are you?' They dnt usually do they? If he appears ill jst say can u ask him to leave!

When I was in having Gem, It was still a closed ward even at visiting time, everyone still had to be buzzed in.
