What are your thoughts on Hot tub usage while TTC? You think it lowers the chances of getting pg?

I wouldn't think it matters too much, so long as you aren't in the tub all day everyday...Are you asking because of the chemicals or just the heat, or both?

dont they say not to use when pregnant? im not sure why, but you can concieve in them, i remember reading about a celeb who did in one, she wanted to name her daughter Spa, she was taking the mickey outta posh spice with Brokklyn at the time thats how long ago it was.

I would think maybe you would want to stay away from it just in case there is a chance you are pregnant. You would probably be fine in the time between AF and ovulation but after that you may want to skip out
I found this article..... hope it helps =)

According to the Organization of Teratology Information Services (OTIS), a body temperature of 101º F and above can raise concerns during pregnancy. Some studies have shown an increased risk of birth defects in babies of women who had an increased body temperature during the first trimester of pregnancy.

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) states that becoming overheated in a hot tub is not recommended during pregnancy. ACOG also recommends that pregnant women never let their core body temperature rise above 102.2º F.

Although the specific degree differs, both OTIS and ACOG attest to the concern related to hot tub use during pregnancy.

Hot tubs are often factory programmed to maintain a water temperature of approximately 104º F. It takes only 10-20 minutes in a hot tub to raise your body temperature to 102º F or higher. To maintain a steady temperature, water is circulated and re-circulated through the hot tub to pump out cold water and pump in hot water.
So, is a hot bath safer than using a hot tub?

A hot bath, which is not uncomfortable or scalding, is a safer way to relax. In a bath much of your upper body will remain out of the water, making you less likely to overheat. Additionally, the water in a bath begins to cool off, as opposed to a hot tub, further reducing any risk of overheating.

we have a ho tub at home and i just strike a deal with my husband:) no hot tub when it's ovulation time...apparently the hot tub affect also the reproduction of sperms too ...

I think I read somewhere that it doesn't really affect the women but it can kill sperm I think or maybe just damage it.

It can effect sperm because they say even when taking a hot bath, it isn't good the bd right after as the heat effects the sperm. Men's balls hang low for a reason, to keep em cool down there ;)

my sisters boyfriend has a hot tub,i was in it 2weeks ago, so is it dodgy just when your pg to go in it?

I knew they were bad to go in when pg but wasn't sure how it affected women when TTC. I'll make sure DH stays out during O time so his spermies stay alive. :-D
