House guest before EC - advice please!

I heard today my Dad is planning to visit us in a couple of weeks, about 4 days before my EC is due to be exact. I had already told him the timing wasn't great, so I could tell him it's not possible. But he doesn't visit very often and in some ways it would be really nice to have him - maybe a good distraction too!

He knows we're due for IVF generally, but I haven't told him treatment has begun and would rather not - I just don't want the additional pressure of others' expectations right now.

Soooo, for those who have already experienced this what would your advice be? He'd only stay one night, but I will have been stimming for about 9 days then. Will I be ok with a guest? I have no idea what to expect!

Obviously the timings are completely subject to change at this point anyway, and I guess more likely to move further away than closer?

I think you'll be fine with a guest before EC. If he was coming straight after EC then I would suggest you avoid it (just because you will be shattered and tender) but before should be fine. I think you're right that dates could alter (and mine did) but mine always moved further away rather than closer. One thing to watch out for though is that you may end up having a scan on that day but as long as you can get to that if you need to, I can't imagine you will have a problem.

Yep, I agree, you should be fine! You might be a little sore as the ovaries will be plump, but it shouldn't stop you from visiting. I worked right up until collection both previous times and will again this time, so should be okay. Try and get your rest though! Don't stay up too late chatting!!
