Housing??

Cant advise as no experience but if i were you i would make an appiontment down the council/housing association with a housing officer and discuss all your fears and concerns.

xx

i would say that you have the grounds to be housed urgently and you can declare yourself homeless because that doenst sound like a safe environment to me.

i became homeless when i left my stb-ex. i had a 2 and a half year old and a 6 week old. i went into a homeless families shelter which isnt as bad as it sounds.

we had our own room with ensuite shower room, our own kitchen cupboard with a fridge and pots and pans and plates etc... they even paid for the storage of my belongings till i was housed and deliverd it to me too!

i really really think you need to make an appointment with your council and talk over your options. neither myself nor my family were happy with the thought of me and the kids living in the shelter but its a means to an end. we were there from april till july. i got offered my house in june but it wasnt ready till july.

big hugs hun!!

Have a look on your local concil website and it should say about housing and how to go about applying. I applied when I found out I was pregnant and was in a house a few months later. Definatly sounds like you need to be housed urgently :hugs:

:hugs: I didn't apply until LO was two months old and will be in my own place by the end of july :hugs:

Apply and a housing officer will come out to your home and assess you etc :hugs: Hope you get yourown place soon!

I got my place after my first child was born. I would say (based on where I live only) that at this stage of your pregnancy, you'd not be offered more than a one bed though and depending on how the system works where you are you may be more likely to be offered a bedsit or similar accomodation in an emergency situation over a flat or house.

I would say go and speak to a housing officer and explain your situation in some detail. I think they get a lot of stories so sometimes can be quite harsh with their decisions, but if you explain how difficult things are at home you should get some help. They can do a lot if they want to, Good luck!

Think it depends on ur council hun, with my council, u have to be 5 months gone to be considered and ur folks/landlord need to write a letter sayin they are basically making you leave and why and then you have to bid on a 1 bed property.

when child is 1 you bid on 2 bed properties.

i got my place a month n half before baby was born.
you should go down there n talk to someone.

contact Shelter for help, i gave them a ring and they were soooo helpful
