I don't really know why I'm curious about this but I am. All my apps and research always tell me how big baby is at the moment but never says anything about how much my uterus has grown as well. I'm currently 16w4d and I'm feeling baby move quite a bit. I've felt him/her on my sides the most (not like my actual side but like the sides of my tummy(or bump) and I'm wondering how big my uterus is, I was amazed when I read baby was around 5in now. That seems so big already! I know baby has a lot more growing to do. I did find that someone said they thought it was around the size of a volley ball or a head of cabbage. I've been looking for a visial aid as well but can only find them showing out front (causing your bump) and not around it. Is that confusing??

oooh that is quite intersesting, i wonder hehe <3
will need to have a snoop round google & see what it comes up with :)

hope all is well hun :) x

The only thing I have seen about uterus size is the diagrams of fundal height, but even that can't be very accurate as they say at 20 weeks the top of the uterus should be at our belly buttons but at my 20 week scan my baby's head was a good 2 inches above my belly button so my uterus must be stretched quite a bit higher than my belly button.
My point is I guess uterus size is going to be different for everyone, kinda like bump size because it isn't just influenced by the baby's size but the levels of amniotic fluid as well so maybe that's why the apps don't tell us uterus size.

Yea My uterus is right at the bottom of my belly button already (i'm very short) I'm super curious about things like that, xD like when someone said the size of a volley ball I was thinking okay maybe like length wise but surely not around too?

ohh another short mama , what height are you ( if u dont mind me asking) .. is this ur first baby :)?xx

I downloaded the app What to Expect and there's an image of baby in the womb then a separate photo of the uterus in the belly in comparison to your whole body. Which I thought was quite good to see!

It's not on the video that you get updated every week, it's just under that under the my week tab!

I'm an incredibly short mama too - I'm 5ft 1! I felt baby at 15 +5 for the first time and my uterus reached my belly button at 13 weeks..I think frame has a lot to do with it. I've also been told that I do just have a big uterus, with quite a lot of fluid which has a lot to do with it too - nothing to do with baby though! He's still hanging out in my pelvis, snuggled on my bladder ;)

I'm 4'11 so super short x) I felt movement during the middle of week 13.
Thanks I'll check out those sites mmMIM,
Brighteyes I have that app too I'll have to look and see :D
and yup this is my first little one

aw, im glad im not the only short one lol im 4'7 crazy how babies fit in short folk its amazing lol .. Hope everyone is happy & healthy :) x

Im 5'2 and my uterus is waaaay above my belly button. Im farther along than you but definitely seems way up there for my gestation :flower:

I'm so happy to see this thread. I've been worried sick about being short. I'm 5'1" (on a good day lol). at 16 weeks my fundal height was at my belly button. Now I'm 19/20 weeks along and it's 2 inches above belly button. I'm worried about internal organs for the rest of the pregnancy and how I'll eat.

Sure, I had a kid already so I should know I can survive this. But I don't quite recall being so big and having problem eating already.:nope:

I've actually wondered about this too as I already feel like my organs are squished, but I had an OB appointment today and my OB said I was measuring perfectly. (I think she meant my weight gain, since I lost a bit of weight in the first trimester and now am back to my pre-pregnancy weight -.-)She didn't measure my tummy or anything but I've been curious about how everything is going to fit when I hit 30+ weeks. I already feel like I can't breath!
