Just wondered how you all got your bottles ready. did you make them up after they were sterilised and keep them in fridge, put sterilised bottles together and them make them up when needed etc?

just wondered cos im trying to find the best way without sterilising and making up every time Summer is hungry. i feel pretty clueless

I can't help sorry as I do them up fresh, but I would look through the pages on here there are LOADS of threads on the same subject :)

Some people make them fresh and some people do them in batches.

It is easier to do them in batches when there feeding on demand as you never know when they'll want a couple of ozs but its completely up to you

I do them in batches for the day.......so the night before i sterilise my bottles and only add the cool boiled water into the bottles.

I only add the formula when Jacs ready for his feed. I dont warm them up either he gets them room temp.

xx

I sterilize all the bottles and make 3 up at a time as ernie has colief in them,so i know he will usually have 3 in a 12 hour period. Mix the milk with cooled previously boiled water and then store in the fridge and just warm through in a jug of boiled water when he wants one!

I make them up when needed, and when she was a newborn I kept a thermos of cooled boiled water so I didn't have to wait for the kettle to boil/water cool whenever she was hungry. I just topped it up a couple of times in day.
Cold water sterilisers are easy, you jsut take what you need out whenever you need it as the solution lasts 24hrs x

i sterilize the bottles then put them together and then make up the feed as i need

I read in the other thread about this its best to put the powder in the hot water as it will kill any bacteria in the powder.

We do them up fresh but it's only 2 1/2 minutes in the microwave in a 1 bottle steriliser, so isn't such a problem, and through the night we use the cartons so we dont have any cooling time - which is the real time taker upper!

I make 6 in the morning and make up however many Emma has got through in the night in the morning, then store in the fridge.

i did the same, worked really well ,m they are made freshly and theres no agonising wait for baby :)
i did find that when he got to having 7 oz or so in a bottle it didnt mix so easily ( less room in bottle i gues) so at this point i would fill up 2/3rds of the way up to the level i wanted an dthen boil the kettle to top it up the remaining 3rd of the way , this way it mixed well and was an ok temperature straight away so baby still didnt need to wait for it.

also made trips out easy as i just needed to take a pot out with the powder premeasured and then just tip it in and shake it when he was hungry
