Hi ladies.
For those of you that have had or have cervical incompetence, how did you know you had it, and how did your doctor know to check for it?
My cervix feels very different to what it felt like in my last pregnancy. It almost feels like it is opening.
I am seeing my doctor on Friday and will ask him about it, but any information in the mean time would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have IC, as mine didn't shorten until after 20 weeks, but they can measure cervical length in an ultrasound. That's how they found my issue.

After my first loss, it was suspected. So with my second pregnancy they monitored me more closely, with transvaginal ultrasounds to check the length. I felt lots of pressure in my vagina/cervix between 17-21 weeks. Unfortunately I still lost my baby. But if you have concerns definitely see your doctor and make sure he takes you seriously!
