How did you tell him you're pregnant?

I don't have my BFP yet but I'm already thinking ahead of fun ways to tell DH he's going to be a daddy.

So I was wondering - how will you tell him? Will you just tell him or will it be something different? Any creative suggestions appreciated! My guy is a big music fan and collects records so I'd love to incorporate that somehow.

i think me screaming with joy from the bathroom would be a big giveaway so wouldnt really have a chance to do anything special lol

Make some dinner pour some winde ( not for u of course) and tell him u want to listen to a certain record with dinner..slip the sonogram picture inside.. or put the pregnancy test in a box and give it to him as a present...my sister suprised us all by sending us each a framed sonogram pic..mine siad hi auntie...moms said hi gma...so on..I haven't made it far enough to do that but I think of all sorts of ways! I am also thinking about ways to tell hubby.He is a big Liverpool fan, so I am thinking of getting one of there baby grows or little shirts and putting the pregnancy test in the middle of it, and wrapping it up. That if I don't give it away by screaming in the bathroom!!! to you xxxxx

Love this thread! I do not have my yet, but I frequently think about how I will tell my DH! I want to think that I'll be calm enough to take the time to come up with something great, but knowing me, I'll probably be freaking out and jumping for joy in the bathroom

I have thought about making cut out cookies that spell "I'm Pregnant" or making a cake that says "I'm Pregnant"... yes, we like our sweets! I think wrapping the pregnancy test in a nice box with a sentimental card is sweet too. I also thought about buying a tiny onesie or t-shirt that says "I love my Daddy."

I don't have my BFP yet but I often think about this moment!

I collect the Emma Bridgewater hand-painted stuff for our kitchen. Anyway they do a polka dot mug with "Daddy" on it. If I ever get my BFP I'm going to buy that mug and wrap it up and when he gets home tell him I've got a present for him and give it to him, then when he unwraps it, ta da! Hope he would get the hint tho and not just think I'm being the TTC Crazy Lady again, lol!

Well in reality if I ever get my BFP I'll probably just scream and cry with joy and that plan will go out the window!!

I don't have mine yet either but I'd buy OH a gift with dad or daddy on it and put it in a gift bag along with the test. I also thought of customising a card on moonpig or funky pigeon to say 'you're going to be a dad' with an uploaded photo of the test.

My friend took a photo of her holding the test and had the photo made into a little jigsaw and got her OH to put it together which I thought was different.

Another friend in the US was lucky enough to get a chance to be on TV when they were filming the Today Show in NYC. She was standing where they were filming and she made a sign saying 'Mike I am Pregnant' knowing her OH would be watching her at home.

I haven't got my yet but I have been thinking about this FOREVER!

I'm going to buy some booties and a onesee that says #1 dad and gift wrap it and have it delivered to his job with flowers.

Great ideas ladies! I'm also hoping to not ruin the surprise by just screaming from the bathroom, LOL I may bring a pillow in to scream into ;-)

I'd love to get him something that says "I love my Daddy".

Megnjoe - I would love to put something in one of his records, but it wouldn't be a sonogram as I'd just have to tell him as soon as I had a blood test. But a photo of the test would work too! Then maybe once he finds it, I can pull out a tiny Beatles onesie or something similar (he loves the Beatles)

I have no idea. We've discussed it before now and I now for the life of me cannot remember what he said lol!!

We've agreed that if he's in this country I'm to wait for him to be home before I tell him....if he's away for an extended period of time (ie on deployment, a long exercise, etc) then I can tell him over the phone and I'm allowed to tell my Mum if I really HAVE to tell someone straight away lol

Aww this thread is cute ! hehe My DH wants to be there when I test. Im not suppposed to do a pregnancy test without him there. I like the idea of finding out together

I think I will leave the positive test on the keyboard of his computer so he sees it. But I would probably call him at work and tell him if I found out. I don't know how long I could keep it in after I found out.

I'm wondering how hard it is to get a blood test to make sure...I'd hate to get his hopes up but I also don't think I can wait that long!

If I do get a BFP on a home pregnancy test, is it possible to go to a walk-in clinic for a blood test same day? I live in Canada...thoughts?
