How long do you have baby stay on breast? I think this may be why my baby boy not gaining much.

When Isaac was really young i kept him on one side until he started pulling off all the time as the hv said it was a sign that he had "emptied" the breast then put him on the other breast. I would then start the next feed on that breast to make sure he got the hind milk from the last feed before moving on to the breast he had emptied the feed before. Hope that makes sense. I have also heard of block feeding where you feed off one side for 2/3 feeds before feeding off the other side. Green poos are a sign that lo isnt getting enough hind milk.

As long as your LO is actively nursing I would keep him on the same breast. If he's fussing, pulling off, or starting to doze then it may be time to switch sides.
