How do YOU pronounce Amelia?

I'm curious how you ladies pronounce Amelia, yesterday at my shower so many of my in laws are asking how to pronounce it... I don't understand, I didn't know there was more than one way to do so?

Like I was asked if it was Uh-mee-lia or Eh-mee-lia, when I said "uh" one response I got was "Oh it's with an A!"

Same here. That's how I say it too.

Since they said, "Oh with an A" - i'm guessing they weren't sure how you were spelling it, so they didn't know how to pronounce it??

Like maybe a few of them weren't sure if you were spelling it Emillia/Emilia/Emelia instead of Amelia? That would be my only guess.

Where I'm from it's always pronounced Uh-meel-ee-a. I think it's a pretty name.
Don't let your family make you second guess! Other people won't have a problem with it. It's definitely not unheard of!
