How hot is your water before mixing????

Ummmm I have been giving my newborn room temp formula since 2 weeks old, is that bad? the dr actually fed her room temp formula after she snipped her tongue tie, said nothing of warming it?? I only warm at night as it's nicer for her...I didn't wanna be having to cart around a thermos for bottles..!!??

If my baby would take it room temperature that's all he'd get... and with my daughter that's what we did as it's much easier than having to worry about where to warm the bottle! Unfortunately the baby refuses anything other than a warm.

Just an update...

My sister (who has fed her daughter boiled, then cooled water, with formula added as baby was hungry since birth) asked 2 health visitors this week about this issue, after I was told I couldn't do this anymore, one hv said they were given new guidelines about powder being added to water at 70 degrees, but that my sister should do what is best for her!

The 2nd hv said that she thinks the concerns more come from people not cleaning and sterilising bottles correctly, and the 70 degrees is to kill bacteria that can potentially develop from milk residue left over from a previous feed, and agreed that my sister should do as she has been!

My neice has been fed for 6 months and is fine so I am going to continue preparing my night feeds as I have been, boil the kettle, fill 3 bottles with boiled water when I go to bed, and add the formula to the cooled water when LO wants it!
