How long before it goes positive?

I am using opk's for the first time, just the internet cheapie one's for now, anyway I started with them just after af finished as I have no idea when I do O, FF estimate it will be starting tomorrow, final day Thursday, yesterday I got a faint line at 5pm on an opk stick, just done another today & the line is definately darker but not near as dark as the control line yet, how long does it normally take to go dark enough that you mark it as a +ve on FF.

I have 25-27 day cycles. I begin opk testing around cd 9 (sometimes earlier) and I test one time a day at 11am. When I start to see the line getting lots darker (still not positive) around cd 11 or so, I start to test three times per day. One time at 11am, 4pm, and 8pm. I continue testing through any positives and until I've gotten a negative again.

Doing this, I typically only ever see ONE opk that is positive - all the rest are negative.

As far as how long it takes to show positive from when it starts getting dark, it's different for every woman. AND for many women it's different in each of their cycles. Some women have a long LH surge buildup one month, then a short build up the next.
