How long before.....

........My tummy goes down. I still look heavily pregnant 5 days after the section with no sign of reduced swelling. Thought I would have seen a bit of a reduction. I know it takes time but I'm quite anxious a bout never fee ling normal again

Oh gosh it will be a little while yet. Mine is still a little strange looking after 7 weeks! Remember you're likely to have swelling and everything has to settle back down again. My stomach still goes a strange shape sometimes if I've sat in the same position for a while! I need to get on the exercising now I've been given the all clear to try and get the skin back to how it was rather than being all wrinkley xx

By tIme you have your 6 wk checkup, it should be pretty much back to normal. It still will be wrinkly and the pouch will be there. Excercise when you're cleared to do so will be the only way to get rid of that:/

Your body is still trying to settle back down so give it a bit of time. Maybe you can look into post surgery support belts like a belly bandit to help things go along smoothly.

Do people normally still have the post baby tummy with caesareans as well as a normal birth? With DS (emergency c-section) mine was instantly flat, better than pre pregnancy even! A bit worried I got really lucky and it will be different this time!

It depends. My 1st pregnancy was an emergency c-section and it took some time for my stomach to return to normal, but with my 2nd it was instant and went back to pre pregnancy. So I guess it's based on each pregnancy...
