Hi Wrighty

Just a few questions/points ...

I'm a bit confused with your days/dates ... When was your ET?

When you say your AF turned up 8 days after ET, was it a full bleed or a bit of red spotting? The reason I ask is because I had my first ET on a Friday and 8 days later I had some spotting - turned out to be implantation bleeding.

You also said that your AF showed up on the Sunday, but then you say you're five days late (?) ... or did I misunderstand your post?

The other thing to bear in mind is that your cycle days start from the first day of stimulation and not the first day of your last bleed. Depending on your drug protocol, you might have a bleed and then not start stimming for another 2 weeks. That might make a difference in your dates.

My periods are still a bit skewed post-IVF compared with pre-IVF. My friend, who had her cycle at the same time as my first, said that her cycles have only just got back to normal within the last month or so - and that's since December. I guess everyone's a bit different, but if your AF hasn't shown up and you're 100% sure the treatment hasn't worked, then I'd speak to your FS.

Good luck

Having looked it up on numerous sites through google it would seem that it is very normal to get late AF after a failed IVF because your body is still normalising itself after the drugs that were put into it. One woman was three weeks late. Your body has been stimulated beyond it's capacity for the purpose of egg collection so it'll take awhile for it to 'right' itself.

thanks for replying

Maz ET was saturday 20th had a 2 day transfer. it was full flow that lasted 6 days and done a HPT just to make sure as the hospital asked me to so defo not pregnant. did make abit of a mistake as it was surpose to say 6 days not 5 i am now on day 7 and AF is still a no show. hope she comes soon planning for FET in september so a rough date for myself would be good but being late aint helping.

Curly sue - hope i dont end up 3 weeks late means longer wait for FET. if i do end up that late means FET wont be til october bloody AF come on

Might do an AF dance see if it helps :lmao:

They say that your cycles are a little 'off' for awhile after IVF so a week is nothing to worry about. If it's three weeks then that's just what your body needs for it to be. It's still a long way away until September so you have time to regulate. It is normal though. Nobody would expect to have a regular cycle after stimulating the ovaries beyond what they should be stimulated.

I'm a bit confused ... Did you have your ET in June or July? If it was July and you started bleeding on the 28th then I'd say you'll most likely not bleed for another three to four weeks. If it were 28th June that you started bleeding then your AF will most likely start pretty soon.

I remember that my first bleed post treatment was really heavy and really crampy. I used to have a 26 day cycle, but the past few months it's been 28 days. I also used to get spotting, achey legs, and general fatiguey feelings approx 2-3 days before AF showed up, but for the 3 or so months following treatment I had no warning of AF coming and my cycles have got a day or two longer.

Fingers crossed cowface shows up soon.

soz its me confused seem to have gone so quick it was june not july

That makes more sense then ... I was beginning to think I was going loopy.

Fingers crossed your AF shows up soon.

Hey Hun

I had my cycle around same time as you. I have heard people saying their periods came late after a cycle (think progestrone supps can affect things), but to be honest mine came pretty much on time at 28 days which is around normal for me. Wouldnt worry too much about it, if it has not come in 2 weeks you may want to call clinic or even do a pregnancy test haha :) X
