How long did it take you to get your FIRST FS app ?

I cant book mine myself, there sending me an app through the post Im just wondering how long you had to wait from booking your app to the actual app ?

The lady on the phone said it was a 11 week wait

my doc said it was a 3 month or thereabouts wait.

I first saw the doc requesting to be referred. He wrote to the hospital to ask for a referral and they wrote to me 2 weeks later (I also chased the doc after a week to make sure he had written to the hospital!).

The FS appt was a mere 2 weeks form getting my hospital letter.

It may depend on area, so good luck hun, hope you get yours sooner than the predicted 11 weeks xx

I got mine really quick. It was probably about a 1 month wait.

My gps secretary booked it and sent it in the post to us. It was six weeks away. I think it probably depends on the area.

Mine was 4 weeks. I can't complain about the NHS they have been excellent with me and all my apps have come through quickly! x

Hi!!
When i got referred my Doc said you wont b on the list too long due to ur age!! Im 40!! Aaaarggghhhh
So i rang my FS secretary the followin wk and asked if they had received the referral!
Yes they had!! I asked how long until i got an appointment?
She said roughly 6months I said my Doc led me to believe we wud b priority! Seemingly thats the time line!
So i rang several times a wk in the hope i wud exhaust them and they wud just say get rid of her!!Give her a app ASAP
They didnt!! So i enquired how long a wait for private? 2weeks!
That was on the Fri i got a call that Sun eve at 7.15pm and in was my FS I was over the moon!! Saw him that Wed and while it may have cost us,it saved us 6months!! Im havin a SHG in 2weeks and starting Clomid the followin month
But its frustratin to kno if we cudnt have afforded it we wud still b waiting!! Plus i ov dont have time on my side!!

I had a dream last night that my app come through and it was in a weeks time LMAO! i wish ..

Im just hoping its not the end of jan, Im away for a week then!!

Mine was about 4 weeks, on the NHS, in Devon.
They have a referral 'self booking' service to keep things speedy here xx

From the referral from my GP it took approx 3 weeks. The clinic secretary phoned a week after my referral and booked my appointment over the phone for just under 2 weeks later. My HSG happened on the cycle following the appointment..but everything after that seems to have slowed down.

i'm from the same neck of the woods as babycarey - rang hospital to find out how long and they told me i will hear from them in about 6 months!!!!!! Also thinking of going private - it is crappy to think just cos u live in a different part of the same country u have such a different health care experience!

WELL I RANG THEM UP ON THE FIRST, THEY SAID I CANT ACTUALLY BOOK THE APP THEY WILL SEND IT THROUGH THE POST, WELL I HAVENT HAD ANYTHING COME THROUGH SO FAR SO IM GOING TO CALL THEM TOMORROW IT DOESNT TAKE THAT LONG TO SEND ME OUT AN APP!

I'm in Canada and I had to wait 7 months to see one, I was soo frustrated. I finally saw her and she gave me an HSG right away but now I have to wait 3 more months for an endo lap, which is annoying because that is what everyone thinks the problem is.

I cant remember how long it took for mine but I do think it was a little while.

I got my app come through and its the 16th November! .. Wooo

Im pretty pleased with that tbh.. as 11 weeks would of been late dec/jan ..

Looking foward to it now... i think he will send me for a hsg and put me on clomid for a while...

I said if I hadn't heard by the end of the year I would be sure to chase up.

It's mad how much of a difference this postcode lottery makes to getting an FS appointment. Doesn't seem fair for some people to have to wait ages and then others only having to wait a few weeks!
