How long did stitching take if you tore/got an episiotomy?

I'm curious how long stitching takes? I'm assuming it depends on the degree of tearing or if you got an episiotomy.

I had a labial tear and an episiotomy and it took about 20 minutes I would say to stitch both but I also had a student midwife observing so the midwife was instructing at the same time

I had an episiotomy but I think it was probably around 10 mins. My DH was with me but mom behind a curtain and he wanted to call her in while i was getting stitches! Not a nice sight to see!!!

I had a 2nd degree tear, and it took maybe 10 minutes or so. Probably would have been faster, but I had a home birth and the lighting is terrible in our house so they could barely see what they were doing. It was painful (actually the only truly painful thing about giving birth for me, and I had a totally natural birth with no pain relief), but it was manageable even without pain meds and was over quick enough.

I had an episiotomy and still tore, my repair was a theatre jobby, could have took an hour maybe a bit longer as I was given a spinal block.
Certainly not a nightmare though, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience!

Same here plus another tear that they couldn't stitch so had to pad around. I was far too obsessed with watching them give my DS the once over & weighing him & talking to DH to even notice what they were doing (I did have an epi though - can't imagine that drug free. Hats off to MindUtopia!)

Fourth degree took an hour I had stitches across my bum cheek, he was 8'1 and I'm 5'1

I don't know how long it took, but I recall it felt like it took ages! I think a good 30 mins.

I gave birth last night, naturally in the pool with just gas and air at the end...

I tore, 3 labial tears and 1 perineum.

Took about 30 mins I think and oh my was not pleasant!!!! They gave me local for the lower tears but ones round my urethra they apparently couldn't... Stung like a *****! Had gas and air and thought the doc was breaking the sutre with her teeth! Haha

First time I was cut, took forever to stitch me up but I'd had an epidural so felt nothing.

2 hours for me - 75 stitches after 4th degree tear. Had spinal block in though so had a nice chat with the student nurse at the time

i had a epidural but it had worn off (it wasn't placed properly) but the midwife refused to numb the area so half way through i felt everything and it hurt like a biatch.

i had a small 2nd degree tear and it felt like hours but must of been 20 mins ish
