How long did you bleed after section?

I had my c-section 16 days ago and im still bleeding red with some clots, the midwife said really it should have turned brown by now not still be red...she is coming back Monday to see if its still the same. I'm a bit worried now.

My bleeding never went brown, it was always red and I bled for around 3 weeks. Towards the end it just turned into slight bleeding like the end of a period and only then did it start to go a little brown.

6 weeks :O gosh, i hope it stops before then. Im already taking 3 iron tablets a day and feel so weak saying that, its been nearly 3 weeks with no signs of stopping, so....! x

I bled for two weeks, then it pretty much stopped. Then at 4 weeks, it came back with a vengeance until I was 9 weeks after surgery. Scared the hell out of me when I assumed it had stopped!! x

They said I was actually bleeding too much while in recovery. I was only suppose to be there for an hour, but with my bleeding they kept me there for 3 hours before taking me to a room. Everything turned out fine though. Doc said I healed really well and 6 weeks is actually really good for the bleeding to stop. It won't be much longer.

3 days of red bleeding like a period, now on day 14 post cs and its just been the teensiest bit, and its dark brown stringy discharge sort of stuff. Just enough to be annoying! Like daily I'd only bleed the size of a coin on the pad and it slightly darkens my wee. Its almost like pepper spots in my wee when I wipe!

So annoying that its so little yet so persistent!

I am on day 12, and the bleeding is more of a light pink clear discharge (and LOTS of it!) at this point. I was told this is normal...and that BF-ing can help you stop bleeding sooner than if not, not sure it's my 1st baby, but I was surprised how fast the heavy red bleeding stopped.

Good question I was going to open a thread asking this cause its now been 4 weeks with still bleeding. Mine did turn brown last week then friday,saturday & sunday I had no bleeding but then today it started again. Its not heavy,there's no clots.?

Mine had pretty much stopped then I'd go shopping and walk for 2 hours and it restarted argh!!
