How long did you keep your LO on comfort formula?

just curious. My LO has been on it since about 4 weeks with a carton of sma during the nightfeed. He has recently become a very hungry baby and growing really fast (I've gone from comments of him being 'so tiny' (he was 6lb3 at birth) to gosh he's a big lad). I'm thinking of trying to ween him on to hungry formula but worried it will constipate him. hmmmm. Any input appreciated.

I'm not sure Hun. I used hungry baby at the start as Eva always seemed hungry and then went to sma gold which seemed to make her constipated so she's now on Aptimil comfort and I didn't wean her onto it just put her straight on as I couldn't bear to keep seeing her in pain with wind and constipation.
I think the hungry baby food is even richer than the comfort food though so u may have the same problem?
I was told by my HV if I need to change milk to just Replace one feed with new milk and then the second day replace two feeds then third day three feeds etc etc till it completely on the new milk.
Maybe put him on just a normal milk and give him more formula in each bottle instead??

My boy is 5 months old and we only recently switched from comfort back to regular milk. I asked my HV about it when he was 3 months old (because I thought Colic was meant to end after about 12 weeks old) and she said no, leave him on it.

So I have no idea how long it is good to keep him on it, but recently he went through 3 weeks of VERY runny poohs - going from 1 pooh a day, to 8 poohs a day. Not sure if it was teething or not, the DOC & HV was not concerned...but we recently changed him off comfort and now his poohs have gone back to normal. Coincedence? Not sure. But I think it was definitely the right time for us to take him off.

Good luck
