How long do you bleed for?

When I had my last m/c I bled for 5-6 days, then stopped for 3 days and then bled for another 4-5 days.

This time however I have been bleeding for 7 days. It started off heavy for 3 days and then tailed off and finally looked like it was on it's way out yesterday morning. I woke up this morning however and it's back like the start of af again and I've got stomach cramps.

Is that normal? (if there is a normal)

i think you might have answered you own question there

I dont think there's a blanket normal but what is normal to you. There's the abnormal but you would know it if you saw it (which you wont) and we all know what that is (infection..terrible pain, very, very heavy bleeding etc)

I know the general concensus is that a) if you've had a natural mc things take a while longer that after a d&c/ ercp and that b) unless you bleed for an extended time, say 6 weeks or more..you are perfectly fine.

Keep an eye on things, trust your instincs and if you feel something is wrong call epau. Thats what they're there for..aswering questions when we feel a bit worried

hiya sue even tho i had a dnc,i was bleeding heavy after that,then just a little for 2wk ! it then stopped and started again few days later for another couple of days.....i did speak2mw at this time and she said...3-4wk approx,but again this was after a dnc

I bled for 2 and a half weeks. I have heard that it could be on and off for 6 weeks or so.

If you're cramping and it's bleeding heavy again, the m/c may not be complete. It's best to see the doctor to get your hcg monitored to be sure. If it looks like light bleeding or just spotting, it's totally normal. You may continue to spot for several weeks. I've heard natural m/cs take longer for hormones to normalize... and have experienced it myself. I spotted for 8 weeks straight...then cleared for 2 weeks before I got my AF. I m/ced at 5 weeks.

i always bleed for 14 days.. with all 4 m/cs iv bled for 2 weeks straight.

I bleed for roughly 10 days after the mc but I did have a d&c- slowly went down to a brown 'sludge' - sorry if tmi. I cant remember with the first but I think it wasnt for so long.

I bleed for a week, just like a normal period then got my first period about 6 week later.

I bled for just under a week. stopped completely now. just have to wait for AF to sort herself out. god knows when she will arrive!
