i have had acne off and on since i found out we were pregnant.

which i will be 9 weeks tomorrow !! YAY!!!

how long does the early pregnancy acne last for?

can it last the whole pregnancy?

i always thought that you had clear skin while pregnant?

thanks

I would like to know this to hun cos my back and chest are covered in little spots

I have really bad acne on my face.. and I get single spots on my arms too? Remember having this with my 1st pg. Very weird! x x

My face initially cleared up (I've had adult acne for years), but now it's even worse than it was pre-pregnancy! I really hope it doesn't last, although I know from some friends that it can last throughout the entire pregnancy :-(

My face started to clear up between 10-11 weeks, Thank god, It was starting to get me down a bit.

My back and chest are still kinda bad but they are much better than they were.

Not promising it won't come back but it might make you feel a bit better to know it can go away.

My chin has broken out terribly!! I feel like a spotty teenager...

Well if i can give you some hope, I'm at 13 weeks now, and my nightmare acne is starting to improve :) I've had so many spots all over my back and upper arms ever since i became pregnant, to the point where lying on my back was actually to painful. So glad i'm not the only one suffering with this, but happily it seems to be slowly improving now - roll on clear skin!! and good luck to you! :)

Wonderful, you've given me hope! I hate looking like a pubescent teen at my age!

I so know how you feel hun, what with acne, mood swings, crazy hormones, not wanting to get out of bed, and body changes it takes me right back to those teenage years! Really hoping i'm heading for the "bloom" bit now though, and i'm sure you will bloom beautifully too. Plus, remember how worth while all of this is :D

Yes for sure! One funny "side effect" is that I got carded to enter an establishment that serves alcohol 2 days ago (i.e. a PUB!) Apparently I really do look younger :winkwink:

Oooh, lucky you, now thats all i need to make me feel young again!:haha:

im not sure but i have come out in acne all over my face and there not the normal sort they are really pain full. hope it goes away soon.

Mine (fingers crossed) is starting to clear up and i'm just at the 11 week mark :happydance:.... i'm hoping that it doesn't come back lol as its been driving me mad i've never really suffered with acne before luckily.

Excellent question... my forehead has broken out in so many red and sore spots... I'm hoping you're right about the 11 week mark starting to show improvement... that only gives me just over 3 weeks.

Fingers crossed they clear and we all begin to get that beautiful pregnancy glow :flower:

Mine is awful, face is like sandpaper so dry and spotty. And I have single red spots at the top of my arms and on my chest. I thought we were meant to bloom, lol. Xx

I have always suffered with spotty skin, it only improved when I was put on the BCP and of course since I came off it a few months ago my skin went a bit crazy but was manageable. I noticed my skin had got really bad and I was getting a lot of spots on my chin and jawline a couple of months ago and now I know why! It has really started getting me down as nothing seemed to be helping it at all and of course my doctor was reluctant to give me anything because I’m pregnant.

I bought myself some Quinoderm facial wash and have been using that which seems to be helping, I think it seems to be clearing a bit so I’m hoping this means I’m not going to have awful skin all the way through. They aren’t the usual kind of spots I get either – these are different and very painful

I know that getting spots in the chin and lower area of the face is hormonal so hopefully once our hormones settle down a bit we will enter the blooming stage. I just wish it would hurry up and get here! I’m already feeling unattractive enough due to morning sickness, greasy hair and bloating I can do without adding rubbish skin to the equation!
