Hi,

I saw my MW today, this is our 2nd LO and she said the baby is nice and low, its head is in my pelvis and its 'nicely lined up' meaning central in my uterus. I have also recently experienced what I think might be the mucus plug (although I'm not sure as didn't notice with our 1st DD!)

Ive been having period like pains very low down for a few days and lower backache. My MW said something jokingly about only giving me another week - Im 36 weeks at the moment.

So, once you ladies who have given birth before, knew the head was 'engaged' or in your pelvis, how long until labour started?

Thanks - giving myself another bump as no replies!!

My son was engaged at 37 weeks but not fully, he was fully engaged at 39 + 2 but bobbed back up to just 1/5th at 39 + 6, went into labour on my due date :)

Not sure about my daughter, she was never engaged at any appointments, my last one was at 38 weeks and she was brim. Went into hospital at 39 + 3 with contractions at 11pm, head was fully engaged and very low, she was born at 5.08am :)

DS1 he was engaged at 32 weeks, had him the night before due date. DS2 never engaged until about 10 minutes before giving birth! Lol. He was 5 days over due.

DD2 was bopping in and out of being fully engaged for weeks before I went into labour. Even after labour kicked off and she remained engaged it still took 3 days before things finally kicked in properly and I delivered. Not sure if it's something you can accurately go by with a 2nd child.

My 2nd was engaged and "ready to go" at 31 weeks, then out, in, out, in, out- you get the idea :haha:. Totally normal for a 2nd baby apparently. I lots a lot of plug early on, start of 3rd tri I think, but it regenerated and I lost it again the day after having a sweep, DD was born a couple of days after. Hopefully LO hangs on a while for you :)

My baby only engaged in labour at 37 weeks exactly. She was high up the whole time and I had to be careful when my waters broke that the cord didn't prolapse. I was sure I was in for a long weight as my bump was so high! I got no bladder symptoms at all because age was so high! I felt her engage in labour - it was so weird. I remember shouting "she's moving she's moving!" And getting a grinding feeling on my pubic bone.
