My little dude is 16 weeks now and I was wondering how long he should be spending at each breast?

Back when he was small he spent between 20-40mins in total. This then dropped down to 20mins in total. And in recent weeks it's dropped again and he spends between 3-6mins on each breast totalling around 10-15mins.

He has also started to get distracted whilst feeding, either by looking at me smiling (which is really cute),or by trying to squeeze his thumb into his mouth whilst feeding,or just generally being a bit nosey!

Is he getting enough in these shorter feeds?

His poo seems to be ok and he seems pretty content after feeding.

But he still wake 1 to 2 times a night and I feed him roughly 3 hourly. Although sometimes he can go longer.

I guess I'm wondering if he was to spend 30 mins total feeding would he possibly go longer at night?

I think 10 to 15 mins is fairly normal. They just get quicker at getting the milk out, so forcing a longer feed won't necessarily help, as their stomachs can only take so much anyway.

Sorry not much help, but they usually say up to 6m they still need night feeds (if they are stil waking ofc).
