how long should you avoid people who have had a sickness bug

my friends child always has stomach bugs. 8 days ago she was vomiting and on the 3rd day after my friend caught it. i told her id see her yesterday rather than friday. when she came round she said her partner had it on the friday. so now im worried in a few days we will end up with it. im abit worried about my five month old getting it. they made alot of contact yesterday.

im really panicking as i hate being sick and i generally dont get tummy bugs.

I work in the nhs and our policy is that you cannot return to work until 48 hours after sickness/diarrhoea stops to prevent the spread of infection. Its very rare to be able to pass anything on after this time x
